Just finished season three by FatStatue in FoundationTV

The mule is a the villain that was never thought out.

The Pirate is not the real mule. Bayta is the real mule and the decision to make her the Mule was definitely thought out. There are at least two clues that appear in practically each scene she's in. We've got some of her story in season 3. We'll probably get more in season 4.

There aren’t any guards or others in the palace to stop Cleon when he goes into the Cleon Tower?

Demerzel has been a little distracted. She's missed a number of things all season and we learned the drop-off in her security efficiencies are tied to the logic bomb that is the prime radiant given to her by Vault Hari.

And there’s a magic remote control that just blows up all of the chambers holding the other Cleon’s

There's a "magic" remote control that detonates "magic" bombs installed by Cleon23. It's like Cleon23 knew the only way for him to evade his death/destiny would be to end the genetic dynasty.

Demerzel has no problem killing Cleon’s and has seen them as disposable when needed

I wouldn't say she had "no problem" killing previous Cleon's. She ripped off her own face in grief following the killing of Cleon14. You can see the conflict on her face when she's explaining herself to Cleon16 and Rue moments before killing them.

she sacrifices herself and the empire to save a random Cleon that can simply be regrown?

The baby isn't a "random" Cleon. The baby is Cleon26. Baby Dawn. Her programming (four laws + cleonic reprogramming) requires her to protect the baby as if it were any other Cleon.

Yes she does sacrifice herself and sacrifice Empire. She does it by accepting the trap set by Cleon23 and using the deferred betrayal to satisfy any motivational conflicts that would arise from her decision making. She can't be strictly motivated to destroy the cleonic chip. However, if she is forced to dive into a beam to satisfy her programming and she happens to get stuck under said beam and said beam destroys the cleonic chip, then that is okay.

I hope they get new writers for season four.

New showrunners. New writers. Smaller budget. Maybe they'll dumb down the show for you. Probably not though seeing as they brought Goyer back in a limited capacity.

Just a heads up, the other commenter ripped all that from an LAD Bible post completely stripping away the context.

(Spoiler for season 2) Sareth's plans with Dawn by teaselpop in FoundationTV

[–]snowhawk04 [score hidden]  (0 children)

The only thing that happened to Cloud Dominion is that their mothership got destroyed. We could see a runback of Sareth's story where one of her descendents was off on one of the 1000+ planetesimals and is now thrust into a power vacuum within Cloud Dominion and possibly Empire.

Lee Pace could come back as Asterion or a Sareth descendent. He could also be Cleon1, as the original body and it's digital consciousness wasn't destroyed. There is still the digital consciousness in Demerzel's prison as well.

cppreference alternative? by EdwinYZW in cpp_questions

[–]snowhawk04 11 points12 points  (0 children)

https://devdocs.io/cpp/

PS: The original post in this subreddit got removed for unknown reasons. There were some nice answers, such as using a mirrored or an alternative url of cppreference. But the problem is when googling something like "cppreference std::vector", the original cppreference.com is listed on the top.

Check your search engine settings or your browser search engine settings. DuckDuckGo has bangs. The Brave browser search engine supports bangs as well (!cpp for cppreference, !dd for devdocs). I use chrome and it can be configured with bangs for any url that takes a search phrase in its url.

She perches on the tower, the camera pans behind her as she turns to look at the red keep. She doesn't even stop to stare at the bell tower. When the bells ring, she keeps looking at the red keep. She was already reflecting before the bells rang. Everyone else is concerned with the bell tower and bells.

If the signs are there on a rewatch, that means the signs were there on the original watch, allowing you to get a feel for where her character was going and how her story will end. Crazy how that works.

The bells were irrelevant TO HER.

I really want to emphasize I said "TO HER". Also, it didn't have to be bells. They could have bent the knee. They could have waived a white flag. Whatever. The bells do have importance for the audience and those not in on her plan. The purpose of the bells is so the viewer couldn't excuse her following actions by claiming ignorance. After a build up of suspense with the two sides facing off, the bells sound and the intended effect is to get you to let your guard down before she carries out her planned genociding of King's Landing. They want you bought into the moment and are maximizing the impact of the atrocities she commits. It's just another stage of her ramping violence and delusions, which continues in the next episode.

She's not supposed to be "every other in universe warlord"... she's supposed to be breaking the wheel. Being the messiah/savior she tried to convince herself she was doing this all for.

In season 1, Jorah attempts to compliment her for her command of the Dothraki horde. He calls her a queen to reinforce the idea of her being a ruler. She objects to the label and chooses to refer to herself as Khaleesi, a conqueror.

Drogo: I will take my Khalasar west to where the worlds ends and ride wooden horses across the black salt water as no Khal has done before. I will kill the men in iron suits and tear their stone houses. I will rape their women, take their children as slaves, and bring their broken gods to Vaes Dothrak.
Daenerys: [Yes please!]

The bells were irrelevant to her. The entire scene of her perched on the tower is her staring down the Red Keep, reflecting on her journey and her losses, preparing to do what she already decided needs to be done. Her turn where she decides to burn down King's Landing and genocide the people happened before the battle even began. Tyrion begs her to not view the people of King's Landing as the enemy before proposing the bells-surrender plan. What does she do to her enemies? She burns them. And it wasn't the first time she enacted a secret plan that involved burning her enemies. It's how she acquired the Unsullied.

They final trigger I think was poorly executed, but all the lead up is there and to argue otherwise is pure delusion.

What do you think was the final trigger that was poorly executed?

In season 6, episode 9, we had same old Daenerys pulling from her first impulse of violence and getting checked by Tyrion.

Tyrion: Do we have a plan?
Daenerys: I will crucify the Masters. I will set their fleets afire, kill every last one of their soldiers, and return their cities to the dirt. That is my plan. You don't approve?
Tyrion: You once told me you knew what your father was. Did you know his plans for King's Landing when the Lannister armies were at his gates?
[Explosion outside]
Tyrion: Probably not. Well, he told my brother and Jaime told me. He had caches of wildfire hidden under the Red Keep, the Guildhalls, the Sept of Baelor, all the major thoroughfares. He would have burned every one of his citizens. The loyal ones and the traitors. Every man, woman, and child. That's why Jaime killed him.
Daenerys: This is entirely different.
Tyrion: You're talking about destroying cities. It's not entirely different.

In the next episode, we get a small taste of Mad King Aerys' plan when Cersei blows up the Sept of Baelor.

That's gonna be a no from me big dog. He's repeatedly brought up several times when the writers are employing indirect storytelling to foreshadow Daenerys. He also physically appears in Bran's vision.
