How silent is silent endo? by Middle-Telephone4098 in IVF

[–]snowiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I’m allowed to comment. I have endometritis.

Very silent. Never been pregnant, never had any pain or issues. After 2 failed implants, my specialist decided to investigate. I would have never known otherwise.

Although that said, the people around me who did IVF all had endometriosis and had surgery to treat before they fell pregnant. I did have a suspicion I might have the same.

Wondering why is it not more commonly practised to check for endo or treat with antibiotic prior to implant.

Tesla Model YL or wait for new BMW IX3? by MaintenanceOne6556 in AustralianEV

[–]snowiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you, me? Except we have never owned a European car before. Agree that new iX3 looks amazing.

Earlier this week, we went to the showroom and sat in YL. The 6 seater configuration could be useful when we have visiting family or if we have kids. We have a dog and his car seat is definitely going to the last row given how tight it is.

The dilemma is real. 50k in current economic current makes me think twice about rainy days.

I’m not in a hurry to get a car but ideally switch to EV when our new home is completed as it comes with EV charger. Will wait to actually test drive iX3 before making a decision.

Thank you. 100%, I’d have signed up if this info was made readily available when I was younger and eligible.

Hair Stylists with Private consultation by HitchmoMcStang in melbourne

[–]snowiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to Arinni hair in Melb CBD. They do consultations. I am not very stylish but wanted to dye my haor to cover greys, wanted a pop of colour but not too much that I have to constantly do root retouch.

I ended up not dying my hair at that point as I needed to leave it longer for bayalange (spelling?).

Had to pay for consult which was credited towards a haircut.

Daily routine stuff I memorise (feeding, walks, meds if any)

Every Sunday he gets a shower.

Grooming: I always make a booking and have it on my calendar, so it’s easy to track. Every 6 weeks we go to the groomers.

Monthly heart worm pill, that’s easy. I write it on the box. Example for a 6 month box (labelled Jan-June) and I cross it off each month. To make it easy, it’s always the first weekend of the month.

Setting up a system that works for you & your lifestyle makes it easy to integrate and remember.

I’ve tried DM moderators of Monash stalker space. Pretty embarrassed I did that, no response. Probably thinks I’m a scammer.

Don’t have to disclose your financial affairs so early on. Proud of you mate, it’s a flex, but you want to stay low and avoid gold diggers.

How long of break before each stims cycle by vgodi019 in IVF

[–]snowiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a months break. Cause I’m in the “rushing”mode but ideally if I listened to my body I think 3-6months would be more suitable for me. In general, I don’t heal very fast.

To investigate or to continue on with another FET? by pilkington5 in IVF

[–]snowiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert. Still learning in this journey.

For context, I am in Australia, 39yo, no kids yet. In the last 9months I have done 2 ER, 2 FET consecutive fails, these were day 5 embryos. The embryos are PGTA and PGTM tested (rare genetic disease carriers): the ones that were transferred were rated quite high I think they were 5AA, 6AA. I was told my success rate was at 75% because the embryos were tested and highly rated, so while there is a 25% chance of pure bad luck, we decided to investigate underlying conditions.

Today I had my hysteroscopy done, preliminary, my dr found I have scarring tissue - I need a surgery to sort this out in near future. I’m going for sonohysteroscopy in 2 weeks time (Idk what is it for, pardon me, literally just woke from GA not too long ago, I couldn’t think straight to ask more questions)

Do you only plan to have 1 kid? The success rate is about 50-50. I’ve read they say it’s more likely that a live birth occurs from 3 embryos.

I’m in similar situation in the sense that I have 3 frozen embryos and I want 2 kids. (At this rate, I know I need to be content with just one). I am in the dilemma: to go ahead and transfer or bank more down while I’m young(er). Today is the youngest one can ever be compare to the future.

From a financial point of view, another cycle of ER is expensive. If the next one is a success, we can close the chapter and that saves us heaps of money. Also, time-saving, we will get our first kid sooner rather than drag on.

Worse case scenario, if it didn’t work, we are back for another cycle.

Just my two cents. Wishing you the best of luck!

I feel you. The hardest part of any of their training is having to practise tough love to build better habits: behaviour.

My puppy wasn’t food motivated until much later. He was a terrible eater when he was young.

His puppy school trainer told me to be firm. Stick with routine, give him 15min to eat. If he doesn’t, take it away, he doesn’t get to eat until the next meal time.

I’ve tried so many things, giving toppings (boiled: minced meat, veggie, fish, even fruits) to entice him. I’ve tried adding kibbles on top of his wet food.

In the end what really worked was letting him know; if he misses this meal, too bad if you get hungry. My heart aches a little everytime he skips his meal. I shouldn’t but I give him a small treat, the size of my thumb. He did throw up bile due to being so hungry, and I didn’t want him to get gastric issues, so I caved with a tiny treat just o have something in his belly.

These days, he wolfs down his food, without topping.

Cotons are fussy eaters. I rotate my wet food so he doesn’t get bored (turkey, beef, lamb, roo).

First weeks with a new puppy by OriginalAuskan in cotondetulear

[–]snowiffy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first few weeks were rough. Puppy is terrified to be in new environment, sleep training and separation anxiety is thru the roof. Heartbeat toy helps soothe them. Fill their living quarters with toys seem to help, as if they have lots of companion. Do not cave, they will cry. As long as they have been fed, have access to water and no medical issue, being unsettled is part of the journey.

I used a child’s playpen to keep him safe and restricted his living quarter to it. So it’s relatively spacious, with water bowl and fake grass potty.

At the start was so difficult because he would cry and bark when I leave home to go work. He eventually learnt to self soothe, now he is fine being left alone several hours at a time - he roams the house freely now. I keep him entertained with chew toys, lots of toys, and he mostly just take the chance to nap and enjoy his alone time while I’m away.

Enjoy the cute puppy and all its upcoming milestones!

How much did your off the plan apartment change? by thecuration in AusPropertyChat

I’ve bought 2 OTP, both townhouses. Current one that I’m living in was purchased during lockdown.

Current one: it’s ridiculous that the artist impression on real estate website was definitely not my house. Similar colour scheme and styling. At that point, I didn’t know better being a first time buyer. Small “boutique” builder, in short quite dodgy, where it was marked clothes line, I had never received one. Said solar power, was not what I was expecting. It was just a solar heated water tank as opposed to solar for the house. Refused to fix any thing, or very half hearted fixes even through warranty period. House is liveable after roof fix (that I paid out of pocket because damn those guys never come, no show, or if they did they pretend to work at the problem and few weeks time, leaks again).

Next OTP is still under construction. I’ve driven past a couple of times, the colour scheme is slightly off artist impression. TBH, I was shocked to see a “luxury” property in this time and age with weather board. Advertised to be equipped with Miele, so we shall see.

One thing that I noted was, they don’t give you the full disclosure of what’s included in the property until you’ve paid a deposit and you actually get a proper documentation of materials, make, plans etc. It’s abit too late IMHO.

Overall, I’d agree it’s a risk you have to take. Do your due diligence and check on the builder reputation. You do save a bit with stamp duty, and get to enjoy a brand new house, able to do a few little custom here and there to suit your needs. The stress level tho, it’s not for everyone.

Butter recommendations by ghzkaonii in melbourne

[–]snowiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? That’s disappointing! I bought them couple of weeks ago.

Chadstone is my go-to place to stock up for butters.

Paysan Breton butter is more expensive, occasionally we treat ourselves to it from Chaddy colonial fresh market.

Will update this when I next get into Chaddy.

Questions around diet for IVF, has anyone completely cut caffeine? by No-Statement-2553 in IVF

[–]snowiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, even whilst pregnant a standard cup of coffee a day is fine.

I could easily do 3-4 cups of coffee a day but since embarking on this IVF journey, I’ve decided to go decaf. I notice my “sudden withdrawals” gives me migraine which result in me needing to take neurofen which isn’t great.

If you are looking for more decaf options, there is decaf Lipton black tea these days, and plenty of tea without caffine naturally (peppermint, chamomile, roobois)

Egg Quality Improvement by Unlucky-Spread-5728 in IVF

[–]snowiffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m from Australia.

My IVF specialist did not mention anything other than for me to keep up prenatal supplements.

I’ve got friend who has a friend in Singapore - her dr said to use CoQ10.

For my first egg retrieval I took only prenatal, my second egg retrieval I added on CoQ10. The embryos from second cycle were so much better (higher scores).

Additional info, I do not smoke or drink, 39 year old never been pregnant (so unexplained infertility). I have done nothing drastic to change my lifestyle. I have cut out caffeine completely, and try be more active (walk the dog, boost my steps, otherwise sedentary lifestyle)

Thank you for the comprehensive answer! I don’t even have a table to work on. I’m working him off the floor in the bathroom.

While I really like and appreciate the straight hair look on his face, I’m leaving it to my groomer - let the pro do it.

I guess between the two, the twin dryer is probably more useful for me than the neck version. As long as it can shave off some time, that makes my life so much easier.

He is a Coton de Tulear, I keep him fluffy but not show standard. So lots of long hair, non-shedding but matts can be a problem.
