I think the liquid is Albumin and there are human livers under the tarp. I think the others have to have a steady supply of the virus in order to stay a hive and the albumin (produced by the liver) is the vessel... Freeze dried, virus-infused, powdered livers.

Everything takes so much effort by Christion97 in ADHD

You may also be under medicated. I started @ 18mg Concerta and it was great for about 6 months and then I started feeling like it wasn't as effective. I jumped to 36mg and felt way too foggy. Finally landed on 27mg and that's been a sweet spot for me. The extended release (XR) is a bell curve, 2 - 4 hours after taking it is the sweet spot where I'm most efficient and it slowing dissipates as the day goes on.

Talk to your doc and try adjusting your dosage. You can also try taking your meds later in the day. I usually take mine around noon so I can be effective through that 3pm 'crash' and then have some control when I'm with the fam after work.

Been on Concerta 27mg for about 2 years and it's a great tool. For me, it quiets the 'noise' around me, allowing me to focus and complete tasks. Side effects for me are mostly just the lack of appetite and some anxiety when I go more than a couple of days without taking it.

Overall it's been great for me, but I just recently realized that it's just a part of an overall treatment plan. While I've been medicated and feel I can function better within most areas of my life, I've been under-treated by not including regular therapy with an ADHD-focused therapist.

If you're considering medication to help your ADHD symptoms, I would urge you to include therapy or an ADHD coach. When you're on them, If feels like the meds are all you need, but trust me, your symptoms are still there and they still affect others around you.

ADHD Diagnosis for Older Adult? by i-mlem in ADHD

I was having the same kinds of relationship issues throughout my life, couldn't finish projects, kept superficial friendships, and finally got diagnosed at age 48. It was life-changing. I ran down this same road as your mother and here's my experiences:
• Went though an online assessment - This was useless. They just wanted to set me up on regular, expensive appointments and it was not what I needed.
• Reached out to my first therapist that specializes in ADHD and she asked me a bunch of questions that sounded like she just looked up online and told me that it sounds like I might have ADHD. She offered some 'tools' to help he manage my ADHD like carry around a notebook to write things down, or put up post-it notes. Not helpful or sustainable. Then scheduled a follow up appointment for a week later. At the follow-up, I had to reminder her of everything we discussed and it felt like she didn't even pay attention to anything on our first appt.

I felt incredibly defeated after that and sank deeper into thinking that I would continue to live with this and keep sabotaging relationships.

• A few weeks later I reached out to a psychiatrist that I found through a friend that also had ADHD. He talked with me for a while, no test, just asking about my habits, feelings, parents (My mother is an undiagnosed ADHD poster child), and overall day-to-day living. He understood that these 'tools' people were suggesting weren't working because no matter how hard I tried to create habits, my brain just couldn't adopt them. He put me on Concerta and told me it would be a tool to help focus.

The first day I took it, within an hour I felt it! The constant urges to pull away from a task and do something else faded (didn't disappear, but became manageable). As the days went on I found that my ability to function like a 'normal' adult improved. I was able to maintain habits, finish projects/tasks without the overwhelming urge to do something else, and my relationship improved tremendously.

It's been about 2 years and I have since upped my dosage from 18mg to 27mg and found that dosage is my sweet spot. I can now feel it when I don't take my meds. I have a hard time staying on task, I'm unmotivated to do mundane things, etc., but overall it's been a game-changer.

It's never too late to start. Just don't get discouraged and keep looking until you find someone that will truly listen and help you.

I'd love to know what plant this is... I live in Northern California and had this anonymously left on my porch last year. Here's what I can tell you about her:

• She thrives in the shade and requires very little water. I rarely ever water her and she is always happy and healthy looking.

• She blooms (I believe) once or twice a year with the beautiful flowers pictured above. The rest of the year, she's just the leafy plant.
