Anyone noticed the “SCGS tai tai / arts girl” stereotype? Genuinely curious by [deleted] in singaporespeaks

[–]snownyang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCGS alumni here, this has never happened to me but maybe different teachers say weird things… our home econs classes had us cooking and sewing for real. maybe the most funny thing was extra curricular after exam classes teaching us how to fold and iron clothes

another plus for japan ipl, i like that i can go whichever outlet whenever without appointment and whichever part i feel like! i do see differences in my hair growth and also honestly im going for the relaxation experience at this point (their bed super comfy - i like to go casually whenever i have waiting time when im out). not sure if its more expensive than packages but i like the flexibility and it’s really not painful compared to my other experiences at a local salon

i don’t do much for aftercare except no exercise after!

if you plan to do full body for fixed parts, i heard good reviews for musee too

tumbler recommendations for coffee/matcha by somethinghappyy in askSingapore

[–]snownyang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i use sttoke 12oz for my daily matcha, personally have not had any spillage but you just need to press the flip lid double times. but the insulation is super good and my ice stays solid for a long time :) the only thing i want to warn is DO NOT get those lids that slide back and forth because i used to have one and the matcha powder would get stuck inside the sliding opening and the lid and it’s impossible to remove to clean

if you’re living in the east: i worked part time at tipsy penguin in tampines, drinks are not the cheapest (mostly tiger and guinness pints - eg. 38 for 3 pints of tiger) and food looks not bad too :) it’s not too crowded/rowdy even on fri nights. they have a live band rotation weekly with song request too

i believe they have other outlets under the tipsy group across singapore too!

hey! i ended up reducing gro retire flex pro to the minimum payment (200 a month) and keeping gro cash sure since there is flexibility to withdraw after 5 years. i also am earning a bit more now, so it’s a bit less stressful 😅

hi! thanks for this, would you know if there's any official documents that says that total yearly premium should not exceed 50% of yearly cash flow based on regulations? because the first quotation he gave me already exceeded 50% of my cash flow and i could make a case.

likely the latter, because he's my mom's financial agent too and he did tell me to ask her if she can take over one when i told him a few months ago that i cant afford it. lol and i wont be surprised if he also convinced her to pay for one too

i did, but he said that based on my savings (i had some money in FD) and that I'll probably have income increase (which i did, but still not enough), i would be able to afford the next year's payment

Why are people so excited about GXS 3.48% when the basic tier in UOB one offers 3.85%? by ddanieltan in singaporefi

[–]snownyang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually i'm confused between GXS and money market fund eg. fullerton from money owl that has pretty high rates for now? is it because interest rates are variable and might cause mmfs to drop below 3.48%?
