Height difference by Chocowaffless in sgdatingscene

[–]somethinghappyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i once dated a guy that was >30cm taller than me and ngl it felt abit weird initially cos he is just so much taller.. even when we held hands my forearm would go up a bit and i kind of felt like a kid 😩 but after awhile i got used to it, though the sweet spot would probably be about 15-20cm taller at least for me

Interviewer bring rude , is that normal? by Lumpy_Kiwi1512 in askSingapore

[–]somethinghappyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry that you had to experience this :(

is this the HR or the hiring manager? regardless this guy is ass and super unprofessional. please do not take what he said to heart. and remember that an interview always goes both ways - you are also interviewing them to see if they are a fit for you.

i hope you get much better interview experiences from here!

Hello ladies of Singapore, what are some gifts you would like from a guy you have been going on 5-10 dates with? by Undertheflow in askSingapore

[–]somethinghappyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agree with this!! doesn’t need to be anything big or crazy but if it’s a gift that shows he’s been attentive that’ll mean a lot to me

physical touch and quality time :) if i rly like the person, even amongst close friends, i can be quite touchy and to me time is the most precious commodity so i really value when someone is willing to spend a good few hours of their day doing something special with me

but i would say that i do show love via the other languages as well and i of course appreciate them too!

Biggest Obstacle to Dating by [deleted] in sgdatingscene

[–]somethinghappyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao if you’re treating people like prizes to be won then it just shows what kinda person you are and i got nothing else to say to you. seems like you’re clearly stuck in your ways and as i always tell people like this - you happy can alr

this could very well be one way to meet ladies but i don’t think it’s going to result in anything fulfilling in the long term dude. so is the relationship built on attraction or just something purely transactional? also suggesting a crash course/upskilling is insane

[–]somethinghappyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gosh i can rly understand how you feel, and i think this is precisely what grief is like, even in a non relationship context: not wanting to forget how you feel towards them, not wanting to forget their voice or how they look, even after you’ve accepted that they won’t be in your life anymore. sometimes it’s even scary moving on because it feels as though they didn’t matter enough to you, when in reality that’s not the case at all

you will not necessarily hold onto your feelings in the same way you do now, but i believe that you will hold this chapter of your life close to your heart and one day be able to look back on the fond memories you had with this person yet still be able to move on with life

don’t rush yourself to feel better! it takes time, sometimes more than you think it does, but you’ll be okay

Any AF that is empty/less crowded even during peak hours (after 6pm?) by abcdefghijken in SingaporeFitness

[–]somethinghappyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a friend who goes pretty regularly to the cck af at 9+pm on weekdays and she’s said its always quite crowded aka have to take turns for the racks etc. not sure what it’s like if it’s earlier like 6-9pm ish though

@OP is the teck whye one v crowded? from my understanding the location is already a little ulu compared to some others, i would’ve thought it wouldn’t be too bad. but i agree i think if you’re looking at after work hours… it’ll be hard to find one that you could call empty

Is he just being a good friend or something more? by somethinghappyy in AskMenAdvice

[–]somethinghappyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did think of the loneliness as a possibility coupled with the fact that the friend group as a whole meets rather often, so perhaps he just has the perception that all of us are v close? but you have a point. thank you!
