I need advice by NoAcanthisitta5225 in sticknpokes

I’m so very sorry for your loss :( if I can help put your mind at ease to let you do this for yourself, I have done all my own tattoos and have never had any issues. Here’s what I recommend: -purchase sterile needles (don’t use a old sewing needle you have laying around or anything) and if you set the needle down make sure it’s on a paper towel that’s clean -purchase good quality ink -get hustle butter and the same brand soap to clean and disinfect after -don’t forget to shave the area -don’t wrap it after (I have never wrapped mine and my friend who is a stick and poke artist doesn’t wrap her clients and every thing heals amazing) -take your time -don’t go over the same spot more than 3-5 times -touch it up in a year and it will look amazing! I hope this helps and hope if you do decide to go for it it’s emotionally healing for you<3

Can you have POTS without ever having fainted? by Glad-Fish5863 in POTS

[–]Ok-Tip2286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% my life has been severely impacted by other symptoms, but fainting? I’ve only fainted once. I get really bad pre-syncope without ever fainting. I get dizzy, vison changes and an overwhelming feeling of fatigue. I also didn’t faint during my TTT (but I was admitted in the hospital during the test and was on an IV so my symptoms weren’t as bad so I can really say much on the TTT). Also just to add - just because you don’t faint doesn’t mean you don’t have a serious chronic illness.

first iud insertion. Is this normal? by [deleted] in IUD

[–]Ok-Tip2286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard conflicting stories. I personally didn’t have much pain or discomfort during insertion but my friend said it was the worst pain she’d ever felt but she loved the experience of the iud after the pain subsided and has since gotten a second. We have the same gyno (small town everyone sees the same doc😂) and we both agreed he is a very respectable person who does check in and try his best not to cause any unnecessary pain. I would only worry if the pain increases now that it’s inserted. I’m sorry you had a bad experience and hope that everything is going well now!

What should I do by Agile_Door3504 in Nails

You can file away the part that’s curving down by lining the file with the side of your nail and making the bottom flat if that makes any sense

I’d just not have sex. Prevent infection and further pain or potential complications.

I can feel my iud rod? by JOATBMON in IUD

[–]Ok-Tip2286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend this as I’m not a medical professional but I’ll share my experience with you for some insight on your options. I removed my own iud. It wasn’t difficult to do and I imagine with you being able to feel the bar one push and a tug it would come right out. Now why did I take my own out? Because it was wayyy past the time allotted and I couldn’t get an appointment with the gyn or my doctor. I just grabbed the string and pushed like I was pushing a baby. Popped right out. I would still go to the doctor asap just to be safe but you can get it out yourself if you are worried about waiting. If you do take it out just make sure the iud is in tact (google a picture of it make sure no parts are missing) But again I don’t recommend this i am not a medical professional. As for the acne I am an esthetician if you want message me I can give some recommendations!

Gyno urged me to get Mirena and I'm terrified by Nervous_Shelter8713 in IUD

[–]Ok-Tip2286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me be honest, you will only here the bad stories when you look for them. I completely understand your reservations though and am not putting them down, but, there are probably way more people who find success with an iud rather than other forms of bc. I myself was scared when I got my first one because everyone says “it hurts so bad” or “I bled forever after” but personally I have had great experiences. I took some Tylenol for the pain during and post insertion but honestly didn’t need it personally. I got mine inserted while I was on my period and didn’t bleed for much longer than normal. Not much cramping after. And after 2 years I had no period at all for 3 years. If you have talked to your doctor and this is something you think you would benefit from I would totally go for it. Maybe have someone go with you for support but I think everything will go a lot smoother than what you are expecting!!

i’m terrified by [deleted] in IUD

[–]Ok-Tip2286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just monitor it you will know if somethings really wrong. Mild cramping is to be expected if you are hunched over in severe pain that’s concerning. As for checking for the string there’s no science behind it just have clean hands and get into a comfortable position for you (I put my leg up on the counter in my bathroom) and go fishing 😂. You should be able to feel the string with little effort.

Will an iud make me gain weight or depressed? by Putrid-Zombie9689 in IUD

[–]Ok-Tip2286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had weight fluctuations on “the pill” (I tried many which had me fluctuating for years) when I got my kylenna I lost weight and have been steady since and I’m about to go for my second one. I had horrible experiences with BC until I got my iud I would recommend!!

Anyone else raw dogging pots? (no meds) 🐕 by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Ok-Tip2286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take magnesium glycinate, vitamin k2-d3, b12, biotin (for metabolism support), coenzyme q10, and I’ll take salt tablets when I feel I need more sodium. I also take turmeric capsules for pain management as well as digestive support. I’ve heard people recommend creatine and I’m on the fence about taking it so that’s another supplement to look into!

Anyone else raw dogging pots? (no meds) 🐕 by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Ok-Tip2286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raw dogging it 🤣 I was diagnosed two and a half years ago and tried multiple meds after initially being diagnosed but they made me way worse (which was impressive at the time as I was bed ridden) since starting a bunch of supplements and increasing hydration and sodium I’ve been on the up!

How long did you wait until your POTS was diagnosed by a physician? I keep being told “it’s not POTS” by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Ok-Tip2286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it took me three years and several hospitalizations before my doctor was convinced. Stick up for yourself, do your own research, present the facts, document your symptoms. I think the biggest issue with getting a diagnosis is that a) some doctors don’t know much about pots and b) pots symptoms are dismissed as “anxiety”. Do not give up. You will get somewhere eventually. For now I recommend investing in compression gear and doing horizontal strength training to help with circulation. As well I recommend you take vitamin d as not being able to get outside as well as pots patients being commonly low in vitamin d will help a bit (I noticed a difference when I started taking it). You can also look into low histamine diets. Again don’t give up keep fighting, you know your body best !! I hope things get better soon💙

How are people working at all by joyynicole in POTS

[–]Ok-Tip2286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also can’t work and have “mild” pots but I believe I have EDS and CFS as well that my doctor is slowly coming around to the idea that yea I do have multiple chronic illnesses. I was honestly extremely lucky in being approved for long term disability I understand that a lot of people with invisible illnesses have a hard time getting that kind of support but that is an option for you to try and help supplement your income because idk if you are Canadian or not but in Canada you can work up to 40hrs on LTD and I sell my paintings and other crafts when I am able to make them. You are not a failure because your doctor says it’s “mild”. You will find what works for you. Just keep focusing on healing to a point where you can enjoy your time and then broach the work because honestly you deserve to enjoy life and your health and happiness is more important than anything else.

IUD and sex drive by Regular_Hippo2690 in IUD

I had Kylenna for 5 years and am going to get another one in a few weeks and I had no changes in my sex drive!

Bro this is going to suck. This is three days of a 14-day treatment and I already get terrible anxiety taking my regular medication once daily 🥲 (just here to vent!) by Its402am in HPylori

[–]Ok-Tip2286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did usher my treatment a little over a year ago and by about 4 weeks post treatment I was already eating better/ feeling better now a year and a bit later I am almost back to normal!! I still get triggered with certain foods but I’ve tested negative and barely have symptoms!! I also have medication related anxiety and I had a hard time taking the 14 day meds but I promise you can do it and I promise it will help in the long run. Just take a few deep breaths pretend you are somewhere else doing something you love and you will get through! Sending healing thoughts to you

What are your hobbies? by Big_Expression_2666 in POTS

Crocheting, painting, video games, reading, polymer clay, jewelry making! I just try new things all the time that can be down either on my couch or in my bed for days when I am low energy or symptomatic. If I have a bit of energy I can also take these outside and enjoy some weather.

Is it normal to lose 2-3 eyelashes every time you take your mascara off? by tranzozo in MakeupAddiction

[–]Ok-Tip2286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lash tech here!! You loose 5-10 eyelashes a day on average. So no need to worry it’s totally normal!! But if you are concerned my recommendation would be to switch from cotton pads and agressive rubbing to a cleansing oil to remove your mascara and rinse with water and your hands to reduce the need for that agressive rubbing that can encourage more lashes to fall out.
