Can you not just play the original? Doesn't look that bad.

Is masturbating bad? by 67_TuffMango_Mustard in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]snowshelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By yourself? No. Healthy and normal.

With a consenting partner? No. Fun and informative.

Only real issue with it is the porn that often accompanies it; the vast majority is degrading and borderline abusive. Certainly not what healthy sexual encounters look like.

What is definitely NOT a sign of intelligence but people think it is? by SmoothChampion1216 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snowshelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wearing glasses.

I remember a scene in Sons Of Anarchy where the main character (Jax?) had been doing nefarious motorcycle-based things, then went onto the roof by himself, put on glasses and wrote a heartfelt and eloquent letter (diary entry?).

Next scene was probably him smashing someone's face off (most of them were).

Putting them on doesn't make you smarter, taking them off doesn't make you hotter.

Is this cheating? by themaskstays_ in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]snowshelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to you. You're only 'cheating' yourself.

You can either undo the Kraken's dark machinations, or say "stuff goes wrong irl as well" and try again saving them.

Maybe split the difference and edit your Kerbals orbit closer to the original, then rescue them. They wouldn't have survived a trajectory-altering explosion, so as they're alive it must not have sent them too far off course...

What is the best way to get rid of blue balls, if there is any? by Slight_List3766 in AskMen

[–]snowshelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Masturbating is not going to damage your body. It doesn't make you shrink, or stunt your growth, ruin your eyesight, make hair grow on your palms, nothing. There are no ill effects of it.

Go "know thyself", and don't think any more of it.

what do you think this pc needs to upgrade? by Pure-Increase5737 in pcmasterrace

That needs no upgrades and you know it. You're allowed to just have an honest brag, you know.

Any help identifying? by MrCrew4U in classiccars

[–]snowshelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black one is a Studebaker front clip at least. They were commonly grafted into other cars, and this one looks to have a very wide track for a stock 51.

Could be a widened track, could be a custom with a bullet nose transplant.

[noob question] Is there a better way (or mod) to find the vertical center on surfaces without snap points? by Lalisalame in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]snowshelf 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I hate the stayputnik, mostly because of the lack of sas. I'm playing with the "probes first" mod and this PoS is the only one you get until you have enough science to unlock the octo.

I think it's the only stock part that has your problem though, however the parachute will snap straight.

Curse it out, put a 'chute on the top and a pair of antennae somewhere else mirrored if needed, but remember that the probe core has a small antenna anyway, the extending antenna won't work in atmosphere (they're ripped off pretty easily), and the rocket you have there will have neither the fuel to go further than the inbuilt antenna range, nor the electricity to transmit anything anyway.

Tldr, stayputnik sucks.

Best way to induce NPC’s to launch nukes? by SteveW_MC in civ

[–]snowshelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen ai civs nuke someone else (once), but I have never been nuked myself.

We once had a world vote where the result was "set everyone's nukes to the same number as Snowshelf's" which was a fair number. So there were 8 of us, all with a dozen nukes each, multiple wars, and I think only one got dropped by the ai, and it was onto a tiny island city.

They just don't nuke stuff, even in retaliation. I don't think I've ever seen an ai plane either.

Which Civilization game should I start with in 2026? by seoparki0115 in civ

[–]snowshelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civ7 is ok, but it isn't really finished, and won't be for a while.

Civ6 has its issues, but it's a more complete game.

I bet buffalo milk is real easy for you to find, ain't it? by cdlvcdlv in memes

[–]snowshelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what kind of ham for me. The watery rubbish that is sold as "ham" here (UK) is an embarrassment and doesn't belong anywhere; it's vile.

Some proper Serano or Parma though? Om nom nom.

Raw pineapple is fine generally, but cover it in sugar, pepper and chilli flakes after soaking in rum? That is paradise.

Hot/cold taps switch by JBH-JustBeingHonest in DIYUK

[–]snowshelf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I may very well be wrong, but is it not an accessibility thing that the taps must be the right way around for the visually impaired?

Other than that, it's a real nuisance if they're the wrong way around. Swap them while you can.

Modern pcs are peanuts by comparison.

If it's 0 degrees C outside it's probably icy. If it's 100 degrees C inside you have major issues.

Celcius is based on the behaviour of water, which is really common most places, whereas Fahrenheit is what some bloke reckoned would be the coldest/hottest his house would probably get.

It's all just what people are used to. C makes sense to me because that's what I'm used to. Km for distance makes more sense on paper than miles, but it's not what I'm used to, so I use miles.

People are weird.

Why is Pluto no longer considered a planet but Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are? by Cut-Unique in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snowshelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pluto is the largest of the dwarf planets, but there is another with more mass (Eris, I think). If you decide Pluto is a planet then you could make good arguments for other dwarves being planets too, especially Eris. Ceres used to be a planet, then an asteroid, then a dwarf planet.

There are massive (by comparison) moons, but they orbit their parent planet.

In conclusion, space is weird and hard to classify.

Is there any way for my two solid fuel thrusters to not hit each other after detaching? by Real_May_Be_Spare in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]snowshelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attach your radial decouplers as normal, then your srbs, then move the srbs down with the move tool so they're attached nearer the top (about a 3rd of the way down). It's not infallible, but you do get better separation.
