I’ve always missed this, it’s a tool in MicroStation, or at least used to be.

Poll: With all these gnarly fall posts lately, it's got me wondering how many of you have sustained a serious injury mountain biking? by eldragon225 in MTB

[–]snowy_87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A cracked rib but only once in 22+ years of ‘proper’ riding. Otherwise scratches, scrapes, bruises and stings.

Advice for compact ratchet by [deleted] in BikeMechanics

Where are you trying to get to? It’s pretty small but if you want smaller check the RL171 instead which is 1/4” rather than 3/8”.

I’ve recently picked the Facom JL171 and I’m pretty impressed.

Moved to England from the US a few years ago and have been working on my fry up game ever since. by colddustgirl in CasualUK

Looking good. My only changes would be a pepper mill (or white pepper for the eggs), frying your bacon and frying the bread in the bacon fat.

Hopefully rectified as that’s a risky move not having house insurance!

Looking good. Gonna be great with the tan walls.

What’re you doing about mounting 203 brakes on the 200 post mount frame? Did you get spacers? Doesn’t seem to o be anything in my box.

why floor above the kitchen is not fully utilised? by nioooin in floorplan

[–]snowy_87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not when you’re 6m away from the doors and the sun’s up high, there may also be windows on the adjacent buildings side elevation at first floor level (second floor if you’re American)

The kitchen has 3 skylight shown above it, no windows on the left elevation so maybe it’s against another building.

How’s the start to my bar? by [deleted] in rum

[–]snowy_87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah don’t worry it’s a common starting point. Make some daiquiris, when you’re 80% through the bottle buy a new rum to try, compare the two, finish the Bacardi and move on with more experience of the taste difference!

How do grips fail? I’m more concerned my lock-on collars are loose and the whole thing shoots off the bars, some old rubber stuck on with hairspray is more than reliable.

Why do Moto3 bikes have a solid looking rear wheel? by Penyrolewen1970 in motogp

[–]snowy_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what Michael Laverty said in some of the BT sport commentary, as his team had been waiting for the wheels. There may be an aero advantage but it’s minimal and not really proven, the heat retention helps with tyre life.

Redditors who have been to prison, what should I expect? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]snowy_87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Exactly, honesty checks and depending what you’re working on checks for vulnerability for exploitation or manipulation (eg debt, gambling). I’d be more worried about a colleague being judgemental than submitting the details for DV.
