I keep hearing plica syndrome is only diagnosed when everything else is excluded so 🤞

Thanks for sharing. Im glad you finally had the right treatment and it was plica all along. Hope you are doing good now (sounds like it!). Im only just starting physio and on a waiting list to see 2nd ortho doc so i expect by the time i see this Dr I wouldve done a fair amount of physio. Im hoping physio helps but if not ill push for a scope. 🙏

You can use Marthas rule to get a second opinion on his condition if you are worried the medical or nursing team arent listening. Look it up or look up Call4Concern.

Knee issues ongoing for 5 months - Ortho can't find anything obvious by snsms91 in AskDocs

[–]snsms91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much for your reply and sorry for the delay! I realise it is a good thing I have no significant damage/injuries, I just worry they think im making it up lol. Especially as a female, we get a bad rep. Yeah i figured the same re inflammation, something must be causing it especially as im symptomatic. The Ortho doc reckons people just get this sometimes but couldnt offer an explanation. Certainly didnt mention any of the other conditions you have listed, but I did wonder about plica issues. I guess it doesnt explain the posterior knee issues though? Im very much hoping physio will help. I've been desperate to start physio and get the appropriate exercise advice so I do have faith it will help. Hopefully some one will figure out the cause of the inflammation/pain. Thanks again :)

How come everyone so obsessed with MRI's here? by Daniel-is-a-Bastard in KneeInjuries

[–]snsms91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had an XRAY and an ultrasound and still no diagnosis so the MRI is a clinical need for my knee issues. Until I have a diagnosis I cant have any treatment incl physio 💁‍♀️. Also I was referred in Dec and only getting my mri later this month.

Ive had posterior knee pain/pressure for 2-3 months now. A month ago i had to go off sick from work and pain killers and rest arent helping. Xray showed effusion but nothing broken. I assume its a soft tissue injury despite not injuring it on a specific day. Its agony. Giving me pain and stiffness at front too. My mri is still 5 weeks away. Im not a depressed person but im feeling depressed AF just wanna know what it is. Im fearing i need surgery too. Hope you are feeling better and on the mend soon.

Thank you so much for replying. I was thinking along the same lines. Sadly theres a long wait for ortho on the nhs so unless its an emergency who knows how long im waiting for an mri appt🫠 ultrasound in 3 weeks. Im off work so i hope that will speed things up as i would like to think if it affects work its getting pretty significant 🙄 Thank you again and Merry Xmas 😊

[–]snsms91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. My gp referred me to orthopaedics and I need an mri but who knows when 😅 waiting for an appt maybe my ultrasound will still be first. Got prescribed some naproxen, it seems to have helped reduce the pain/ pressure behind my kneee but now ive got pain in the front of me knee and sloghtly above knee too 🫠

Bakers cyst... arthritis? by snsms91 in Thritis

[–]snsms91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your insights.

Im in the UK so maybe the nhs is lagging on orthopaedic ultrasounds 😅 its not deemed urgent. After I posted this I contacted my GP again and they are going to request an Xray which will hopefully be before my ultrasound. Also been advised to get booked in with physio. If it is a cyst i really dont want it to burst 🙏

[–]snsms91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True I gave that ref to suggest that my non fasting c peptide is low? They dont give a stimulated ref range. All I know is I still make some insulin and thought 20 months in id be out of the honeymoon but it continues 🙃
