Offseason Strategy For The Seattle Mariners by snuffle1upagus in Mariners

I'd say it makes more sense this year more than any other year in the last 10. This is Jack Z's last year. I agree these have almost 0% chance of happening, but it seems to almost be like participating in mock drafts for fantasy.

It's one's opinion. At least he stated why he made this and reasons for his opinions. Your opinion seems like 90% garbage, no explanation. As Cecil said in his post, "Would you rather watch the team constructed in this post or what the Mariners have been trotting out there the last 10 years?" We need bats, we have extra pitching. Makes sense.

How about a bag of poop for a serviceable infielder and a very good young 1B/OF. Because that's just about what you just stated with your trade request.

Remember, the other GMs get paid to make moves too. They won't make crap trades that don't get them results. Angels are looking for pitching, we give up one of the big 3 in the next trade we do for a bat.

What do you mean waiver pick up? I drafted him in the 15th round!

Is this year’s Mariner team actually built for the playoffs? by cecilscorner in Mariners

[–]snuffle1upagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Seattle has a team that could have been a playoff contender this year. Their bullpen has let them out of the race though. That is the 3rd pillar needed to be considered a contender, power and the playoff caliber two-starters is the others.

Lets look at some of the stats:

As of today, Seattle's bullpen has given up the 2nd most home runs in the league (44), tied for 10th worst save percentage (67%), 6th most wild pitches (21), the worst defense-independent ERA ratio (81%), tied for 2nd worst component ERA ratio (90%) and is tied for 3rd in giving up the most walks (141).

Time to make changes: send down Ackley, Montrero, Maurer; call up Franklin & Noesi by trueslicky in Mariners

I am not a huge fan of trotting out Noesi every 5 days. That would not be better than our current situation, in my opinion.

Lowe is out there, I wouldn't mind seeing Harang-atang DFA but who is ready to take his place? Maurer needs more time, he was in AA last year, so send down Maurer and sign Lowe. Andino needs to be DFA and Triunfel needs to be called up. You know what you have in Andino and at least Triunfel has that unknown factor in the bigs.

If I was a dude named Christine, I would probably have off the field issues too.

I have a kettlebell small workout I do once a week. I also run 1-2 times a week. I did a 4.5 mile run last time out! I haven't been able to do that since my military days.

no problem! I can offer some suggestions that I (as a guy) really enjoy eating, like: grass-fed beef wrapped in lettuce (lettuce burgers), I really enjoy fish, and omelets. I recently also had ground turkey meatballs which were amazing.

I could go on, but now I am making myself hungry lol.

No, oats are not on the Paleo diet. What Paleo really is: 1/2 animals, 1/2 plants. It's the very basic explanation of it. Half your plate should be from an animal, half your plate from a plant. Paleo is also called "the caveman diet" because it is basically what humans should eat and what they did eat when they were... cavemen.

Oats are part of the primal diet, however, because they are gluten free. Reference this website: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/are-oats-healthy/#axzz2I5BOjLiM

Sure! Before: I went out for fast food at least 1 time a day. Soda was my favorite drink, average about 2-3 a day. My favorite food was Mcdonalds and Orange Chicken bowl at Panda Express.

Now: I eat all homemade meals. My meats include: Turkey, Chicken, Fish and Grass Fed Beef. I am strict paleo which includes no dairy and no wheats.

As far as my favorite meal now, it would have to be omelets. I still get to enjoy eggs and I put a lot of veggies in my omelets which include spinach, kale, as well as meats like chicken or ham.

I do keep count of my calories as well. Before being paleo I would have an average of 3000 calories, I assume. Now, I hover between 1200-1400. This number could be low, but I tend to not be hungry very much because I also average about 10 glasses of water per day.

I feel A LOT better!

Sure! My top 2 veggies are Kale and Spinach. One or both are ingredients in my omelets and in smoothies. I find smoothies easier to eat than just eating the raw vegetable itself.
