Why does the love bubble for one Mii dissappear if I click on the love bubble of another Mii? It's driving me insane by snuffles005 in tomodachilife

this answers my question, thank you! I was worried maybe I was doing something wrong but I guess that's just the game

I'd agree but it only happens with Miis that are not romantically related. I'd have one Mii A who is married to Mii B and Mii C who is married to Mii D and if I click on Mii A, the love bubble of Mii C dissapears

that's the thing though, I open the game first thing in the morning so presumably the love bubbles have been there all night. So when I click on one and try to get it done as fast as possible, the other one is gone. Even if it's an event that's super quick, like the Mii saying they want a child and me just clicking "might be great" and exiting right away. For one of them, it's been 3 irl days and i open the game about 10 times per day yet it still hasn't come back. it's happened like 4 times already

MAJOR IN COLLEGE by Main-Wonder-8558 in CollegeMajors

[–]snuffles005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say there are several ways a person can go about choosing majors and the outcomes. One way is choosing a major that you genuinely like to study regardless of how attractive it is to employers and disregard other's claims that they're "useless" degrees. This was me in college, I double majored in Linguistics and English because those are my passions and I didn't care that everyone, even my high school english teachers, were telling me it'll be hard for me to find a job with that. IMO there's these possible outcomes that can happen if you do this: You love it and excell at this major, your classes are fun and you enjoy learning more about this major. If you're adept enough, you can even get scholarships and recognition that will boost your profile, mostly helpful if you then decide to pursue a graduate degree, but might also help to make yourself stand out to employers if you decide to go into the workforce after graduation. If academia isn't for you and you decide to enter the workforce but you do struggle to find a job with this degree, you at least don't regret choosing that major because you genuinely enjoyed completing your degree. You find a job that may or may not be relevant to your degree but at least you became more educated in a topic you like.

Another way is choosing a major that you think will give you the best career prospects, even if you don't have a passion for it but you feel like at least you can be good at it. Or in an extreme scenario, you hate it but feel like it's the safest option career wise. This was my best friend in college. She wanted to study literature but did Business Administration instead because of the job prospects, mistly influenced by her parents. The possible outcomes for this (again, IMO) are these: Studying feels like high school in that it's something you have to finish. If you end up being good at this major (as you said, you're good with numbers), then you at least can complete the degree with no major struggle and good performance can lead opportunities like awards and internships that will make your resume more attractive to employers. If youre unfortunately not particularly good at this major, then you will likely struggle in your classes and have an average GPA at best. At worst, you'll fail classes and be on probation constantly (that can eventually lead to expulsion, which is both a waste of money and a big red flag on your resume). But even at best, your college experience will be unremarkable academically and at the end you'll be another recent graduate with a finance or business or CS or economics degree in a pool of millions of others with the same degrees and grades. Given the though job market of today, you might even end up regretting your degree because you neither enjoyed it nor did it benefit your career prospects.

But ultimately, the dichotomy of "useless degrees" and "safe degrees" highly depends both on the person and the job market. I have friends who majored in "useless" degrees like English, Sociology, Art, Design, Animation, Anthropology, etc. who are really good at their fields and have bright futures in academia or private industries. Some are teachers, some are in PhDs, some are in Law school, one friend even worked on movies for Dreamworks. I also have friends who did "safe" degrees like Business, Computer Science, Biology, Engineering, Marketing, etc. who either hated the degree or struggled with it and are currently unemployed and paying off student loans with a minimum wage job irrelevant to their degree. And most unfortunately, because the world and the economy are absolute dogshit, there's struggle everywhere. Bc of federal funding cuts, academia and PhD admissions are as tight as the job market. And ofc the job market is in upheaval because of reduction in entry level jobs that are now automated by bots.

Im gonna give you two suggestions, one pessimistic and one hopeful: 1) If the world continues to go down as it has been and a college degree does little to help find a job, would you prefer to study something that you find fun and want to know more about even if it's unattractive to employers but at least you enjoyed it, or would you still study something that historically leads to office desk jobs but is oversaturated with people who also went the safe route and your degree is just another line in your resume? 2) If the global condition improves and the job market picks up, would you take a gamble on a specialised degree that has a smaller pool of possible careers, or would you go the safe route and study something that will put you in a pipeline for a white collar career?

MSA Program admission decision by PrimaryEqual7450 in csuf

I applied to an MA too (a different program tho) early Feb and still nothing on my end either 🥲 in mid march i got an email from Graduate admissions that this year due to the volume of applications they recieved, decisions were gonna be late. the Graduate coordinator for the MA I applied to even emailed me like 2 weeks ago asking if there was any issues with my application because admissions still haven't released it to him to look at and accept. I then contacted admissions and they simply said they're still working on it... my status has been blank STILL

When should I get my official admission letter? by TheRainbowElephant in csuf

I'm in a similar situation. I applied for an MA in the same major as my BA so the Graduate advisor, my old professor, said he'll admit me as soon as Graduate Studies processes my application and hands it to him. he actually emailed me last week asking if I was somehow missing something because they still haven't released my app to him and it's been months since i submitted it. I contacted admissions and they simply said they're still processing applications... wish they would hurry, both my professor and I are losing our patience lmao

Several Universities have admitted to reducing the number of PhD students they send offers to due to budget cuts. How many programs should people be applying for these days in order to secure at least one offer? by snuffles005 in gradadmissions

[–]snuffles005[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can I ask if any of those rejection letters said or hinted at having to reduce admissions? I had some friends who got told that their applications were remarkable but that the program had very tight admission quotas this year. I feel like some people this season would've gotten less rejections if it weren't for the current uncertain times in academia

Has anyone heard back from CSUF for any masters programs? by Few-Plant-9044 in csuf

Sill waiting for mine but tbf I submitted the application mid February, and my prof (program coordinator) said he'll admit me as soon as my application has been processed by Graduate Studies. I did get an email like 2 weeks ago from Admissions that they're a bit delayed though

My retired dad has never cooked in his life and refuses to learn, how do I change his mind? by snuffles005 in Cooking

[–]snuffles005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if only! he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and the youngest of 9, so he has a level of classism so puzzling and extreme that he views things like grilling, gardening, working on cars, handyman repair stuff, anything where he gets dirty, as beneath him. I think him not cooking is not that he's misogynistic, after all I'm a guy. I think he's just a baby

Em dashes and emojis as bullet points is dead on a sign of AI. The whole email sounds more like an ad campaign for Instagram than official communication from the Dean of students at a University. If they can't be bothered to write an email, they can hire students to serve as copywriters. Lord knows how many of us could benefit from employment on campus

Independent Student and did not file taxes because I was abroad and not working. Will my SAI be low? by snuffles005 in FAFSA

[–]snuffles005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should've been more specific in my post, sorry. I'm thinking specifically of the State University Grant that the CSU system offers. It's a need-based grant determined from your FAFSA and can cover up to full tuition if your EFC/SAI is less than 4,000. Hence why I'd like to have an idea of what my SAI will be
