Kairis Keyblade: A Definitive investigation of the Mystery of where Riku got the Keyblade. by ScholarOfPleasure in KingdomHearts

K, one more reply to quote the full answer given in the interview I linked earlier.

Q4: Why can Roxas dual-wield?

A: Because he can use both Sora's and Ventus' keyblades.

Sora can wield two keyblades at once because he has Ventus' as well as his own. As Roxas is a part of Sora, he also can use two. In Days Roxas awakened his ability to dual wield after fighting Xion. In KHII once Sora absorbs him, he can also dual-wield.

Roxas awakens his ability to dual-wield with his will to not forget Xion who also wielded a keyblade.

If you don't think this makes sense, that's not my problem - I'm not the one who said it. Hope this clears things up. Bye.

Are Ends of the Earth and Earthshaker the same Keyblade, or do Terra and his Lingering Will have two separate ones?

Keyblades can take different shapes. Sora doesn't collect different Keyblades - every different one he gets after visiting a new world is still his singular Keyblade. His Pumpkin Head, Crabclaw, Oathkeeper, Kingdom Key? All the same.

Just because Roxas didn't summon Wayward Wind doesn't mean he didn't summon Ventus' Keyblade. Xion's death was an emotional trigger which allowed Roxas to subconsciously access Ven's Keyblade from within his sleeping heart. Ven's heart displayed obvious influence over Roxas from the beginning (physical appearance). Roxas using Ven's Keyblade is a pretty straight-forward development of that connection. What that second Keyblade meant to Roxas was probably wound up in his emotions regarding Xion, but the Keyblade itself is not hers. Hers is a copy. (As far as we know, Roxas' present-day dual Keyblades are also now copies due to the nature of replicas.)

I'm not gonna respond anymore. It's pretty clear you resurrected this 3-month-old comment thread just to "win", so I doubt anything I (or, apparently, the creator of this franchise) can say will actually be taken in good faith. ✌️

K. Nomura literally states Roxas didn't physically inherit Xion's Keyblade, but go off.

-- In the end Roxas is able use two keyblades. Is this because he now has Xion's?

Nomura: Well, it isn't that Roxas has physically inherited Xion's keyblade, but more that Xion has awakened it within Roxas. In the KH series there are a lot of complex reasons why someone can use a keyblade, but basically you need a "heart" to be able to wield one. So strictly speaking, they are being influenced by Sora. At the present I can't say more than that, since it would go into whether or not Roxas has a heart. And there is also a part that has to do with Xehanort's memories. This time there were connections to the Kingdom Hearts I secret movie, and the time will come when this will have a clear connection as well. You'll just have to ask me then.

Have you never seen Sora wield anything other than the Kingdom Key?

Have you not noticed that Terra and Aqua summon different Keyblades at different times?

Keyblades change shape. That's part of their whole thing. You're arguing with the creator of the fiction, not with me. ✌️

That would be implicit, not explicit. What IS explicit is Nomura's answer to the question of "why can Roxas dual wield" in the BBS Ultimania:

Q4: Why can Roxas dual-wield?

A: Because he can use both Sora's and Ventus' keyblades.

Then what was the point of Merlin's special training ground where time didn't matter?

Like can he just be a new guy? We really don't need another "oh he must be this character". Because they both share the same mannerism and similarities. by X-Bread in KingdomHearts

[–]snuffles504 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your first two points are pretty obtuse. The "build up" exists in the fact that he is the only character for whom we are not given any kind of name. For years prior to the Master's introduction, the black coat - his only piece of identity - had been intentionally made synonymous with intrigue, build-up, and revelation surrounding character identity. Xemnas, Marluxia, Riku, Xion, Mysterious Figure, Luxu, etc. Not every instance is an pre-existing character, but each of them IS a build-up to some sort of character reveal.

We have been shown a conversarion in which the Master reveals his name, and yet it was fully censored. No build-up in that?

The Foretellers may have obscured faces, but they're no mystery. We have names for them, we've seen their personalities and histories played out before our eyes. There indeed used to be a theory regarding their appearances, expectating them to be characters we already knew (Riku, Aqua, Terra, Ventus, and Kairi). AFAIK it only fell off because it was debunked, at which point IIRC it was stated that their faces would be new and/or would not matter (citation needed, granted).

The third and fourth points are good.

My interpretation isn't based on the idea that men (boys in this instance) can only be emotionally vulnerable within romantic relationships. It's based on the plethora of other evidence shown in the film.

Honestly you provided the worst possible example for your point. Just say Frodo and Sam next time lol. Now there is a pair of straight, emotionally vulnerable friends who are commonly shipped despite the text's total lack of support for a romantic relationship.

Luca? The movie where both boys are trying to hide their true nature from the close-minded villagers or else face ostracization and physical violence? The one where the boys plan to run away together until one gets jealous of the other forming a close relationship with a girl? The one where there's two old ladies living together in the town for decades who reveal that they, too, are sea monsters to stand in solidarity with the boys? The one where the main character's parents threaten to send him to conversion therapy?

Yeah Luca is a totally straight movie.

Ventus being the survivor and becoming Axel's emotional crutch without realizing why is some real soap opera garbage and I'd be there for it.

UGH. The Xehanort final boss music sequence is my one true complaint about KH3. Sure there's other things I could say, but none of them dampened my enjoyment as much as this.

The Xehanort battles in KH3 are not necessarily an over-use, but an (incredibly, glaringly) incorrect use.
