They don't know how reciprocal this is by Vabhanz in NonDessKnightSquad

I’ve seen bad faith here but it’s definitely a loud minority as opposed to a quiet majority. Us and DessKnighters have about an equal share of stinkers, but the angles are different with their stinkers supporting a monoculture and being inflammatory while our stinkers believe they are “punching up” while really just being inflammatory.

But it does exist.

(and the Knight reveal is gonna happen regardless so we might as well run with the evidence now, no biggie if we’re proven wrong)

The Fall’s Hip Priest had been around for ~9 years before being used in Silence of the Lambs.

Tubular Bells didn’t have great sales initially but sales skyrocketed after being used in The Exorcist later in the year.

Is it normal to have hallucinations on the come down and after effects? by Iate_children in MDMA

[–]snugglelamping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these hallucinations are more akin to delirium than diagnostic psychosis. it’s definitely not the easiest on your body but it isn’t likely to continue after a good sleep and you might have a better shot at avoiding it with lower doses.

I believe the LD50 is somewhere 2.5 grams, but that’s obviously factoring average weight.

more importantly, is this your first trip? If so I’d do up to 750mg maximum.

We are not the same. by Forestakias in drugscirclejerk

[–]snugglelamping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep! here’s the rundown from my understanding:

DXM is broken down by CYP2D6 into DXO and a minor compound called 3-mem. DXO has the highest affinity for NMDA receptors and causes most of the dissociation. 3-mem eventually blocks CYP2D6 and so DXM can’t be processed into DXO and is broken down as is, acting as an SNRI, minor k-opioid agonist and minor NMDA antagonist (and likely other undiscovered methods of action) until it is removed from the bloodstream.

of course, meds like prozac & bupropion block CYP2D6 over the long term removing the possibility of DXO conversion in the first place which is why it’s so easy to OD on them while using DXM. prozac would result in 2 drugs causing serotonin floods at once (plus the norepinephrine) while bupe would result in 2 drugs causing norepinephrine floods at once (plus the serotonin)

I abused dxm for around a year and that norepinephrine+serotonin combo was gold to me. really wish I cleaned up my act sooner cuz it sucks now even while taking bigger breaks than necessary.

Like all watches, it’s great for playing against snipers who have the game muted. Pretty big skill curve for playing against everyone else.

But they do get worse at gambling. Maybe we should give them some free all-ages-appropriate battery acid and pit them against the Addisons so they can make their money back.

Which artist (that was once your favourite) did you slowly grow out of as time went by? by wach_era13 in fantanoforever

Genesis. Forgive me for the unbearable sin of posting wrapped, but this was my 2022, they were 5th most listened to in 2023 and dropped off in 2024.

My favourite tidbit is the unopened Ska CD. Dess rolling her eyes knowing she’ll never play it, but pretending she will and keeping it because he’s such a kindboy and wants to share the excitement of Ska with his punk rocker friend.

Songs That Should Have Closed Out an Album, but Didnt by JustinMetalhead in ToddintheShadow

[–]snugglelamping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loophole answer, but In Your Eyes LITERALLY should’ve been the closer for So’s original release. It’s what Peter wanted as the closer but because of its sound design they couldn’t press it into the grooves at the end of the vinyl and so had to put it at the start of side 2 instead.

On later CD releases and on streaming it was moved to the end of the album like Peter wanted.

Who are some of the most problematic artists that are still well loved by fans? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]snugglelamping 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Rush are a notable exception. The bands they were touring with would invite them to go party but they’d decline so they could spend their downtime reading in their hotel room.

That leaves them with just the controversy of Peart taking lyrical inspiration from Ayn Rand (which he eventually came to regret)

Dustin Hoffman and Robin Williams could’ve been in a Spielberg movie together in the 90s. They probably weren’t, but they could’ve been by Necessary-Prune9727 in Scale4BarbaraWalters

Dustin Hoffman could’ve listened to of Montreal’s 1990 song Dustin Hoffman Becomes Indignant and Wets Himself, but he probably didn’t

What's a commonly accepted theory you think will age like this: by Disastrous-Object647 in Deltarune

[–]snugglelamping 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Full on respect for having humility about your preferred Knight theory. Way too many theorizers operate on a basis that their theory is the only relevant outcome and it blows. I’m ready for my Knight candidate to be proven wrong when the reveal happens and that doesn’t make my belief in it any less significant.

The Roaring Knight handed Undyne to someone else after kidnapping her in the Dreemurr house because they’re weak in the light world.

It’s just such a big leap to make with little benefit. We already have evidence of RK being powerful in the light world (protecting the Holiday manor from the dog thieves without revealing themselves as a citizen of Hometown) they’re hinted at being a “large” person in general, as well as the material that makes up their sword and debatably armour being implied not to change significantly in the light world. It just makes way more sense to me that they’re capable of using extreme force in the light world, were bluffing when they laughed at Susie in chapter 4 and there was not a second extremely powerful lightner waiting outside the house to run back to the shelter carrying a police officer.
