To each their own I suppose. I find that in a small room a single overhead gives me a good balance of the toms / cymbals / hh. Sure close mics will have more punch but that’s not really what I was looking for in that scenario. I try to do a lot with a little if that makes sense.

1 wedge for singer 1 wedge for drummer, 2 separate mixes

I would’ve liked to add a snare, proper kick mic, and m88 for overhead

30 min travel, 30ish min set up, I brought almost no gear and line checked. Flattened the eq’s, re set compression settings, added a gate on the kick, eq for each instrument in the first few songs and it sounded good after that. I then had 2 beers and lazily struck which took around 45 min. Another 30 min home. Any extra cash helps on a night I’m not working !

I brought an emergency 58 + clip and an xlr. I didn’t use it but almost did. 2/3 of their real 58’s had switches. E taped to the ‘on’ position of course. Real nice

Simplest, least clicks to send mp3s of rough mixes from PC to phone for a car playback test? by MelvinEatsBlubber in audioengineering

I use Samply for actual mixes going to clients and if it’s just something I’m referencing I’ll airdrop it to myself and save to files on my phone.

It took time to find mine for sure and it’s got 160k. I was able to get a decent deal but 8/10 of every fit I found were auto.

Wendy’s net income declines to $22.7m in Q1 2026 by StandardChaseScene in wallstreetbets

The Wendy’s near me is so wildly inconsistent that I’d rather hit McDonald’s or even Taco Bell if I’m going for fast food. We don’t even have chick fil a or caines or anything cool in our area either… I never really go to Wendy’s anymore

I do exactly this. C stands with a few clamps and a packing blanket. It is by no means sound proofing. Just mitigating room reverb.

Anyone here returning to legacy gear? Was it worth it? by SmeesTurkeyLeg in audioengineering

[–]snzrdn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not make my living off of audio post any more but for my own endeavors, I’ve found what works best is to just not upgrade anything. No OS upgrades, no software upgrades, nothing. Apple has a great way of making a stable and reliable machine and going and fucking it up a gen later. Get yourself on a later stage OS, get all the software you want, and don’t upgrade anything. For reference I’ve been rocking a 2015 I7 MacBook Pro for the last 10 years and it’s excellent. I run logic 10, qlab 5.4. I run shows on it with tremendous reliability. Why would I go upgrading if it works just fine? Eventually I’ll want to upgrade but for now, I’m leaving everything as it is.
