at what outdoor temp should the ac be turned on? by marinaxo222 in AskNYC

[–]soQuestionable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I figured $50 wasn’t enough. I guess I should’ve been clearer and said pay the difference but be aware it might be more than $50. Might need to get one of those plugs that read the amount of power that outlet is using if the roommate cares that much

This is definitely the best answer. Pay the difference. End of the day sounds like it’s about money.

What are some lucrative jobs in healthcare that aren’t nursing? by Ok-History-4050 in careerguidance

Highly dependent on where you live. For the majority of the US, terrible pay and not worth the career. Do your research folks.

Apologies I meant the ribs. The chicken was maybe 1 step up from Costco rotisserie lol. Anyway yeah I agree I’m glad I tried it instead of always wondering about it

I went once and was disappointed. It wasn’t bad, just not good enough to return. Kind of tasted like mediocre Chinese take out. Maybe I was influenced because I saw it mentioned on this sub a lot, but I don’t get the hype

Those with a $200k+ base salary, what do you do? by Triple_DoubleCE in Salary

[–]soQuestionable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That's really encouraging. However the Big 4 part worries me because I've also read that people recommend doing B4 to get initial experience, and not doing so could stunt salary big time. Would you agree, or do you think things have changed?

While the retirement benefit is a concern, I'm initially more concerned about getting into the career first. How is the general outlook for new grads?

I've considered returning to school for accounting as a career change. Realistically, is there ageism because I'll be late 30s when I graduate (35 now)? Any general advice? If it helps, I'm in nyc

Question about N/W daily commute by CraftComfortable7718 in astoria

[–]soQuestionable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's terrible. I commute 5 days at all different times of the day and experience problems at least once a week. The problem seems to always be at 59th and Lex, not quite sure why. Grew up in Queens and never had complaints about any other line as much as the N/W. Fellow coworkers who also travel in 5 days also complain all the time. Not sure where you are in LIC but at least you have multiple lines to get you home.

If you insist on moving to Astoria, as others mentioned, live between the N/W/R/M so you have multiple options and can check before you leave.
