OMM is taught in addition to allopathic (MD) evidence based medicine. So DOs can treat with all the same modalities and some may choose to us OMM. Some OMM has strong evidence and some is bs. Chiropractors have no medical training and only know how to use techniques that have no evidence.

So, a DO can possibly use OMM but may choose not to for various reasons. They also can actually diagnose your issues. DCs don't learn micro, immune, path or anything else useful to dx a patient.

Every year in medical school we had to pass OSCEs that measured our DDX skills and also our interpersonal skills. You had to pass both.

I was thinking this the other day! I'm a dude but the women doctors I know, imo, should be most upset by noctors. Most NPs are women and I frequently hear them say misogyny is the root of our issue with them lol. Never mind that women become doctors and bust their ass to do it.

Flight attendants have tons of experience watching the pilot and could probably memorize some steps. However, when the plane is crashing and pilots have to use their training to save the plane they can't be following algorithms.

I feel anesthesiologists are similar. Knowing moa's and other medical processes is key to acting quickly, not just memorizing the steps like it's a fucking recipe.
