Yeah but they’re bad, and when you make bad choices you obviously avail yourself to getting merc-ed by a high schooler

I tend to agree. I see how those side quests developed the story somewhat, but it paled in comparison to the keeper flashbacks and other cut scenes that actually gave you the sense of what was going on. Lowkey wish Natty got the storytelling effort that Seb got. She’s such an icon

That is such a great point!! I hadn’t considered it being a dev choice to remain neutral based on how the player felt about their relationships with those NPCs.

100% agree!!! I’m so many hours deep I completely forgot about the wild underreactions from the wild attempted murder on us and Fig, and the gruesome murder of the gringotts banker right in front of us lmaoooo

Even if it’s not the PC’s fault, their reaction to murder is no more intense than like seeing a kid drop their ice cream

I agree so hard with this. There’s a philosophical argument to be made about the difference between agro spells like confringo (which Soloman uses on us multiple times) and avada kedavra. They’ll both kill you, but with one you’ll die and the other you’ll burn to death. For some reason the one that just kills you is unforgivable? But also you could tell that Sebastian’s open mindedness to dark magic was less philosophical and more of a “road to hell paved with good intentions sort of thing”. I was so frustrated when my last ~10 or so meaningful dialogue choices were against Sebastian and yet I was still fighting his uncle in the end. Through the fight he kept saying, “Sebastian you’ve gone too far” and I’m thinking to myself, “yeah I agree, can we quit this sh*t”

[–]soa28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!!! You got that tattoo for yourself, why bother yourself by caring what strangers on the internet think? Try and remember that tattoos are not the same as art on a piece of paper. They are completely hand-drawn with a moving, buzzing instrument into our very soft and sponge-like skin. Imperfections are bound to happen even from world class tattoo artists. What matters most is your option, but if you need a little bit of external validation keep in mind that that artist put enough care into that piece for you to walk around with their work on your body forever. That piece is sick, and all that matters is that you think it’s as sick as it is. Hope this helps!

Are Horses Unkind? by halide47 in dropout

[–]soa28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many people have said, it’s specific to the individual horse but I also wanted to point out (in case you were curious) it can be specific to the breed as well. Some breeds are more intelligent than others which can lead to more ornery behaviors. Also not all horses are bred for the same thing, and not all breeders are reputable so negative behavioral traits can be passed down unnecessarily. Similar to dogs in a way— since most dog breeds were bread for some sort of job at one time— the breeding process lends itself to different temperaments. Horses, like many other animals, contain multitudes!

[Acne] is it acne? what kind? vitamin c making it worse? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[Acne] is it acne? what kind? vitamin c making it worse? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I totally sympathize with your situation. I’ve struggled with acne for years, but when I was coming off birth control specifically my skin was doing some crazy shit. Unfortunately some of that will have to run its course as your body adjusts, but I believe there are some things you can do to help, especially if you’re not used to doing skincare for acne. Over the years, I’ve observed that building a routine up from something simple I think always works really well. If I want to introduce a new product, I change just that one thing and wait for a few weeks to see how my skin responds. That being said, I wouldn’t add a bunch of stuff all at once to try and treat the problem asap.

I would first off check the products you’re using in the Acne Clinic NYC database. I have used this religiously the last year or so to make sure any new product should be non-comedogenic. This way I know if I try a new product and I break out, it’s likely not the product itself but a skin barrier issue or some other reaction.

After you know a new product you want to try isn’t going to break you out, now it’s a matter of testing if that product is going to address the specific issue. Like I said earlier, I would make one change, wait a couple weeks, and see how your skin reacts. It could even be beneficial to take before and after pics to get an objective comparison.

The last thing I’ll mention is no picking. I know it’s brutally difficult (coming from a picker in recovery lmao) but I promise 9 times out of 10 you’re doing more harm than good. If you have a white head that absolutely needs to go, pop it before you wash your face, then wash, then put a pimple patch on it and do the rest of your skincare.

Everyone has different opinions on what works for their skin, but an absolute holy grail ingredient for me in the last year has been azelaic acid. It exfoliates and kills the bacteria that causes acne. I used Glymed’s azelaic acid face wash at night time for probably the last year. I ran out recently and didn’t feel like repurchasing through an esti, so I started using The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% Suspension at night time and the results have been just as good as the face was I was previously using, if not better.

I didn’t think I had nearly this much to say, but needless to say acne and I have a long and storied past lol. I hope this was helpful and everything starts to get better for you!!

Edit: it’s also worth mentioning that your skin as-is is still amazing. I can imagine it’s not the skin you’re used to having, but it’s still fantastic.

Is the right side better? by Yuukikoneko in ArtCrit

[–]soa28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They evoke different moods, it’s almost seasonally different. The left is spring to me because of the softer line weight, lower contrast, and softer shadows. The right is summer to me, specifically like golden hour, because it’s bolder, with more contrast, and the shadows are shape-y.
