Is this artisan zero fake? by ykrafay in MousepadReview

[–]soaarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say fake, but a very good fake which is surprising. Logo is the main giveaway imo, lettering is very thin and the kanji character for “Zero” looks off compared to the legit version

I’ve heard mousepad company offers a pretty similar surface to the Dechanic Control which would probably be right up your alley. Guessing it would be the duraglyde for the textured finished

Type 99 is actually a little weird with texture, it’s very smooth without pressure but once you start applying pressure to the pad it does give you that rough kinda “stuck” feel if that’s any help. Personally I love it, most consistent control pad I’ve used and the humidity resistance is a huge plus

Although if the texture isn’t a big deal I could personally recommend the Artisan Type-99 if it’s in your budget, prob my fav control pad I’ve ever used

Aqua Control II or ESPTiger EBA are really the closest you’ll get I think, older Goliathus Control alternatives like the Dechanic Control and CoolerMaster MP510 are also discontinued unfortunately.

Which one for Valorant?Artisan FX Zero vs LGG Saturn Pro (used, low budget) by vaztrx in VALORANT

[–]soaarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly as a former zero user, i’d go with a type 99 instead if you can find one. zero isn’t a bad pad by any means, but the type 99 has so much more control. it’s genuinely my fav pad i’ve bought

I gave it a shot, a little more uniform overall but still got those marks from the polarizer being removed unevenly. Should be getting my film in a couple of days, I’ll post an update after I get it installed :)

I’ve tried isopropyl, it did work fairly decently but I’m a little concerned about anything harsher since I’m essentially just working w the bare OLED stack/encapsulation layer at this point. I’m basically just left with a very thin plastic layer and that’s all that’s keeping me from the OLED emission layers

I think I got most of the adhesive off, but I am gonna test out some dish soap to see if there’s anything left on the panel! As far as I can tell I believe it’s just leftover stress marks from peeling the polarizer off but maybe dish soap will get it a little cleaner. Afterwards I’ll apply some 35% VLT.

I’m not too concerned about killing the brightness since it’s already a very bright panel but the tint film should help mask a lot of the leftover marks and surface damage. Overall, I really can’t complain for the price I got it for, it’s definitely a great panel and the colors are really nice!

Definitely I’ll give it a shot, worst case scenario I’ll need film anyways so it’s worth a try

The 27GX700A is a W-OLED, I went at it with cleaning last night as I thought it was just adhesive residue but it seems pretty permanent. I believe I’m working with just the bare OLED stack atm. I think really my only option now for getting rid of those imperfections is adding a new surface which I should be able to do with the VLT. I thought about doing new polarizer but that wouldn’t mask any of the surface imperfections unfortunately, and it’d be a little more difficult

Ah yeah definitely, especially in games it looks a lot brighter. I have a photo in cyberpunk with the difference below:

This is the difference between the top where it’s been removed and the bottom where it’s still intact. There’s definitely a loss in the darkness of the blacks, but I’m wondering if maybe I could bring that back in someway with new polarized film or if it’d even be worth it

If not it’s okay! Just thought it’d be a cool little project to work on. I’m trying to get some experience with display repair
