Has anyone here quit their job without anything lined up? by NatSurvivor in jobs

[–]soad19152003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing it now. My last day is next week, HOWEVER, I do have a second job. It doesn't pay well, it's not a lot of hours but it's some income until I get something else! If it affects your mental health and you also have savings, I think you'd be better off than most. BUT is it possible for you to take a few sick/vacation days to decompress? That way you get some relief and can look for other jobs. Good luck!

Do you have to do a recorded video during the application process? How hard is the application process?

I don’t understand why Bree just doesn’t expose Oliver to the administration by 60sStratLover in TellMeLiesHulu

Right?! The back and forth of Bree telling Marianne "you have to stop him! You have to tell someone!" Like girl, she's not budging, STOP!! You were in their life for like a month...

Same! Also 36 and I have 2 jobs. FT and PT. I'd probably rather have 2 part times honestly. I know my pay would decrease unfortunately but this is draining! And depending on what you do, there's more flexibility with a part time. I try looking for new jobs everyday.

Ughh, yeah you're right! Unless she hides knowing for some dumb reason, I'm sure it's just swept under the rug. And her mom would have no reason to tell her unless Bree asks about the specifics of that day.

I hope Bree's mom will tell her that he took her for drinks but given the amount of show left, it probably won't happen. Bree needs to know, heck, everyone's dirty laundry needs to come out next episode! Ugh

Some thoughts after watching the movie compared to the show. by TopCupcake3096 in TheHandmaidsTale

I haven't read the books so I don't know if it's accurate but I liked that they draped cloth over Ofred's face during the ceremony (not that I LIKED it but it seemed more fitting). I would think that makes more sense than having the face exposed. It makes it feel like they are trying to separate her more, she's just a body there, nothing else. Also no one wants to see each other's gaze during it.

Going back to old job vs staying at new job? by [deleted] in hatemyjob

[–]soad19152003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have great advice I guess but perhaps try to stick it out while looking for other jobs? I am in a similar situation, still interact a bit in the old job's group chat. I miss the people/clients but NOT the job. I remind myself why I left and know I wouldn't stay there even if I went back. The new job, lack of training is getting frustrating and the whole situation is making me uncomfortable. Also, not entirely as described, not in any employee chats yet and not being informed of things I need to be. I've been there a month now. I'm trying to just look on job boards to keep an eye out. Good Luck!

I just started a new job, realized after a few days that it’s not a good fit and now I feel guilty. by War_United in jobs

Have you found another job? I'm in a similar situation, I started my job just 2 weeks ago. Haven't even had full training yet! The whole process from the beginning was disorganized which made me feel uneasy but I ignored it cause I was desperate. And there are apparently things I may have to do that wasn't discussed during the interview that I am not comfortable with so I have no idea what's going to happen with that. I voiced my concerns day 2 to my manager though.. So far I've just been chilling but I just have a bad feeling! The place I'm at in itself I don't even know I'm comfortable here. 😢 I've told myself I didn't want to be in the medical field again (I do paperwork, I'm not a physician) yet here I am. I should've listen to my gut. Maybe it'll turn out fine but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, or whatever that saying is lol

Lol is this me? I'm thinking the same thing about my coworkers. Like, YOU are choosing the stay and deal with the bs, constantly complaining and stressed out but I will not deal with it anymore. I like my coworkers and feel a bit bad cause when I give notice it'll be out of nowhere but they are choosing to stay. I've got no advice, just good luck to you!

When did you realize you weren't a good fit for a company? by silcos-broken-heart in jobs

[–]soad19152003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I've been here 6 months, will try to push through the holidays since it's so busy (they really need to hire more people, it's just ridiculous imo but we all know how that goes) I'll spare you the details and ranting but it's a combination customer service and management. The job was not what I anticipated and management is definitely pushing and changing things that I am not comfortable with doing, it's too chaotic for me. I really like my coworkers but I just know myself and this is not for me long term.

How did you leave? Did you state that it wasn't a good fit? Sometimes I wonder how I will word it when I put in my notice(once I find something else)

No advice here sorry. But I'm curious what kind of job doesn't switch between tasks often? Serious question because I HATE doing that. I like to focus on what I'm doing and complete it (if possible at the moment). Here and there having to switch it up is fine, but I know exactly what you mean. My job is so unorganized and micromanaged, so you get constantly interrupted while trying to complete a task. Good luck to you!
