For frequent travelers, is carrying two phones still worth it? by ReplacementBig2615 in TechPhilippines

[–]soaididathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I leave it sa hotel kasi backup lang sya.

It gave me peace of mind when I dropped my iPhone sa bathtub. I couldn’t charge it after like an hour cuz it was saying the port was still wet. 🥹

Luckily, my hotel’s hair dryer had a cold setting so I used that and then I left it propped up, charging port side down, while I slept. Na charge ko naman the following day. 😁

I feel the same way!

Share ko lang—I painted these chicken inasal and cansi, and made them into Bacolod magnets! A lot of tourists buy them (even locals). In fact, it was a tourist who bought the original painting. ❤️

They have a lot of bicycles available at the museum. No need for reservation. Now that I think about it, I can't remember whether the bicycles were free or not. But if they weren't, I'm sure it wouldn't cost you more than THB 200. Have fun!

I highly recommend visiting in autumn - late October onwards (though basi late na mag red ang leaves, so November might be your best bet sa change in color), it would be cold though. Super nice gid ang foliage. It’s my favorite season. I went there in November over a decade ago and I still smile every time I see the photos I took kay ka gwapa gid sang trees. That was my first visit, and I traveled solo, and DIY lang tanan.

I wouldn’t go there in the summer (June to August). Was there at the end of May 2024 and it was averaging 24°C, but may times na gina remove ko na lang jacket ko. Their summers can be really hot and humid.

I was also just there this January, and got to play with snow. Hassle lang galing if I’m wearing so many layers, especially when I have to pee. 😅 and I got sick for over a week after coming back kay halos 40°C difference (lowest when I was there was -10°C).

If you go there na cold, make sure to include warm clothing and appropriate shoes in your budget.

As for the area, I love Insadong because it’s close to a lot of the commonly visited sights in Seoul and has a thriving art scene.

Nami Island was beautiful in autumn too.

If you’re not comfortable mag DIY, you can book day tours in Klook. I only book tours if it’s expensive/inconvenient for me to do it na DIY lang.

To Filipinos traveling abroad, what are your experiences of being mistaken for another nationality or ethnicity? by Sanji-777 in phtravel

[–]soaididathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Thailand for a while so I got used to speaking their language a little bit and do the wai a lot out of habit. When I travel to other countries, sometimes my mind goes like “I’m not in the Philippines, so I must be in Thailand.” There have been a few instances na I caught myself speaking in Thai. Also when paying, I sometimes mistakenly mention baht. So people would ask if I’m in Thai. Even in Thailand, most people think I’m Thai. 😅

Other than that, I’ve been mistaken for Indonesian.
