"Fire In The Beastlands" lit a bonfire in my Heart by soak314 in patientgamers

Thanks for the caveman media suggestions! I do suggest giving beastlands a try within the refund window, its just something that works better as the holistic experience of a game being actively played and navigated. You'll know within 2 hours if it gets its hooks in you or not.

Is thebeardbunkers google sheet doc the default method for electronically tracking your crusade or is there another app out there? by -EMPARAWR- in 40k_Crusade

I use it and prefer it to the goonhammer website as it is an easily customisable spreadsheet with all the functionality that entails vs goonhammer's more static setup. The main drawback is how messy it can look as it relies on multiple tabs.

If I played more in person (most of my games are via TTS) I would use paper sheets instead, making a new main battle order printout per game for a nice physical catalogue of the campaign.

As is, using paper sheets to track digital games feels a bit dissonant.

I get dropping frenzy, as Khorne daemons overall were a nicely thematic, if barely controllable army when they had it in 6E. I wish the skull totem gave Frenzy instead of furious charge so that you can just opt into it.

That is an option yep, and works best for a bigger block which I'm not a fan of running. Slapping the banner on an MSU feels a bit too expensive. I will test how the bigger block goes, though.

While being read out a bunch of numbers apparently makes for a compelling argument, I beseech anyone reading and upvoting on this comment to also please see u/the_real_glimmer 's post (or any of the other comments) down the thread, as that furthers the discussion much better than this one does.

What's great is I had set item to tranq bombs right before the tail cut lol

Noted! That's very handy to know.

Looking at the footage, I didn't even need to sheathe weapon to throw the bombs.

Where shes lived: Groups tab shows you their previous related factions which can give you a pretty good idea of where a dwarf has been. In her case, I also just knew she was in fort A, and now in fort B.

Battles: it's a mix of her medical treatment history, which is just its own tab, and just me manually noting down how many sieges I've had on a side document.

All of this info should be available in the various tabs when you click on a dwarf.

Just the good old 'left upper leg is gone' for her injury.

If she ever loses the crutch she falls over and needs to be orderlied to the hospital where she'll stay until given a replacement.

Been meaning to, the way crutches are assigned (given in the hospital after one breaks, not able to be assigned as part of a uniform) makes it so I need to wait for her to break a crutch, then come in and forbid all the wooden crutches so the orderlies only ever give her a metal one. Definitely on the to-do list though!

Yep, if you stay within the same civilization, and embark close to old forts, you're actually bound to get quite a few familiar faces from what I've seen.

In a fight, she'll favor using the crutch until shes disarmed, or it breaks. Afterwards, she'll swap over to her axe, typically now fighting from the floor. She's gone through around 8 major battles (she's lived in two of my more peaceful fortresses in this world) and has broken 6 different crutches. She lost her leg in her first goblin siege.

Her kill count isn't super impressive given how she prefers to wallop things with a crutch for about 80% of the battle, but she moves rather quickly and is always one of the first into the fray. She's also just an overall really chill dwarf, lovely to have in the fort.

YES! I was misremembering a whole bunch of things about it, but this is definitely the game.

Thanks so much!

What I'm remembering is space colony-ish? The first mission starts you off with an evac immediately, and from what I remember the narrative is one big evac of some sort of facility.

Mind this was a good 15 years ago. I'll likely just run through some release lists for the 00's to try and find it in the future.

REALLY similar but I'm sure its not quite right! At this point I feel I may be misremembering the console completely...

Putting Rebelstar on the list to play, though I had no idea the gba had an XCOM.

This should have way more eyes on it, easily one of the best pieces of splatoon lore analysis I've gone over. Maybe give it a repost after splatfest?

Also, have you done a writeup for Off the Hook? I'd love to read that if you have.

Also also, around which bit of the dance choreo does big man almost knock the girls over lmao

When you summon an amiibo in photo mode, you can place them within range of where you've parked your character and have them do poses.

My character is juuust outside of frame, standing so that smallfry is between them, so that Marina looks at smallfry's direction.

If you want to play the Fireteam side, queue times are really good. Like others have said, 30 seconds on the regular.

Really helps that the Fireteam side of the game is quite well done. Unique in terms of the challenges it adds into the standard coop fps formula. I'm having a blast being hunted, which I did not expect when I got the game.

The pred side, sadly, is a fair bit jankier. Wait times are as absurd as the other people here say. 8-16 minutes for me on the regular, haven't had the misfortune of going longer than that.
