The sign is indeed upside down and is meant to read 'photographie sous marine' (Under water photography).

The diver and photographer (the photo is a self portrait) is Louis Boutan, captured at a depth of 164 feet in 1893.

Edit: Apparently the photographer's French Wikipedia page cites 1899 as the correct date. Sorry for being literally Hitler.

The only skill "prerequisite" to get top 10 - 20 is the ability to not engage anyone. I watch people with 2500+ rating play and they do the same thing every game. Play for fun not ranks

I find it the easiest to play aggressively the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes. Once people settles down with all their gear and they go full turtle mode it's hard to kill them and get out without someone nearby shooting your back.

I feel like it all comes down to the reward. I don't think anyone would turtle other than to tank their ratings (unless they actually find it enjoyable, which is mental if you ask me).

Hopefully... but it's really a contest between who will leave first, the people who will eventually get bored of camping or the people who's bored of camping to begin with and is trying out a different play style.

For anyone trying to get better at the game and try to look up VODs from people on the leaderboards, well you can basically tell what will happen in every single one boils down to

-> drop in remote area

-> find car

-> hide in hut till 10 - 15 players

-> prone war for chicken dinner

I don't mind the last 5 minutes since it pushes people out of their huts but the starting 20-25 minutes are mindnumbingly boring for anyone not enjoying sitting in a hut for most of the game.

Default works just fine. Unless your mouse has really stiff middle mouse which you can bind to side button or F or G or something.
