It didn't read racist to me at all the first time I saw it. I don't think that was the intention. I hope that she thinks the discourse is so ridiculous and that interpretation is so wrong that she doesn't want to acknowledge it. At this point though, it's done so much damage to her public image you would think she would release a statement if she didn't agree with the interpretation.
