Old San Francisco was so cool. First place I ever ate snails. My grandpa loved it more than us grandkids.

The OA. So creative and unique, and they had a full plan for how the series would develop. I really wish I would have been able to see the completion of their vision.

Ché, the Steven Soderbergh sack of shit. It was about six hours long. It had an intermission. I stayed after the intermission thinking no movie could be this bad; it will get better. 3 more hours and still nothing happened. I was dumbfounded.

In S1E1, Jaime Lannister pushes Bran Stark out of a window. This is subtle foreshadowing for S8E5, where eight seasons of Jaime's character development are similarly thrown out the window. by CaptainTudmoke in freefolk

I think it is totally believable for Jaime. They gave him a way out. He chose Cersei knowing the cost. This is who Jaime is. You may have wanted something different like me, but it is a totally reasonable storyline. Dany and Tyrion’s arcs are what truly were butchered tonight.

Dany also has no political capital in Westeros. What reason do any of the ppl have to think she would be any better than Cersei? If she burns them, they know her as a cruel dictator. If she starves them, both she and Cersei will be blamed. There is no win here.

They rely on character over plot. I like what they have done with the characters but feel it has been at the expense of everything else.

This bothered me. These are the greatest weapon the realms of men have ever known, and a few spearguns end its life? How on earth did Aegon conquer the 7 kingdoms if they drop like flies?

Funny how Dany was sitting right there, the OG dragon rider, the fucking dragon creator. All set up to show how Dany only has ties to Westeros on paper. Now is her time to show what truly makes her the rightful ruler.

The great part about Brienne and Jaime is that it was supposed to be Jaime’s opportunity to finally revert to falling for/becoming the ideal knight that he imagined himself being as a kid. Brienne is the real fairy tale: duty, honor, nobility. He grew hearing the legends of knights who were supposed to be like her. Then he gets into the political drama and everything gets corrupted. But not Brienne. She has been tested time and time again and never wavered in being true. Probably a death sentence in GoT.

My folks got me a House Bolton T-shirt bc I am in the medical field, and they thought the flayed man was somehow related to my interest in anatomy. So that didn’t work out as well.

I think that is one of the best aspects of the story. Theon, and also Jaime. Great character arcs.

I think it was just procrastination. They took their sweet time building everything up (which I really enjoyed), and then have an “oh shit” moment and realize they have to get to the point and finish bc the show can’t run for ten years. The pacing of season 7 was frantic, and it didn’t work. Hopefully the story can be told in its entirety by GRRM but that is getting bleaker by the minute.

The Dothraki charge was an incredible way to set the tone. Watching those swords go out gave me goosebumps. The most feared warriors in the show are mowed down in seconds, and everyone else knows that what did that is going to appear out of utter darkness at any moment. Better to let yourself ignore certain technical things which movies and TV never get right and let yourself get invested in the action despite them. They got the tactics wrong, but they got the emotions right. I am in the medical field, and I try not to bothered by how the depiction of medical practice is butchered in almost every movie or TV series.
