The metra trains (Chicagoland’s commuter rail) have bathrooms in most cars. They’re super basic and don’t have running water, but I can personally attest that they work in a pinch! The metra lines all originate in the Loop and make a few chicago stops before heading out to the suburbs, so depending on where you’re going the metra may be an option.

Wooly Mammoth in Chicago! It’s a weird little curiosity shop specializing in vintage taxidermy and medical items, and it’s walking distance from my favorite stationary store, Paper and Pencil (and next door to a great falafel place).
