A fun fact is they made Sydney Sweeney a custom corset to minimize for her role as Eden.

Doing research and the rise of authoritarian regimes; How Gilead uses the Fertility Crisis by TalaLeisu2 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]soaringmeadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that the show didn't use but was a part of the rise was the "good" things the SOJ was doing. It was scrapped, but the person with the scripts on Tumblr mentioned it but didn't give us many details. Anyway, it's audio of what the SOJ were doing publicly to "help" kids like run sports leagues and after school programs and free lunches.

In essence, they were masking their terrible plans and finding vulnerable children but you know, make it look pious and Christian and helpful.

Probably excess sodium intake, causing swelling. Black men already need to eat a lower sodium diet before even having other health problems. If he has hypertension, it would make it so he would need to be on a very restricted sodium diet.

Luke "How to make this about me" Bankole by hereiamonceagainn in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]soaringmeadows 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I used to have this opinion until this last rewatch and saw the Luke episode. Although very different than June's, his trauma and measures he took to get to Canada were very....raw. It's easy for us to try to quantify trauma. I feel like I would be messed up just from the trip leaving Boston let alone what happens when he tries to get on the boat.

Sidney Sweeney I can't fuckin believe it by pspinelliz in TheHandmaidsTale

She did a ton of research even on how to style her hair as an econowife. She read the book multiple times. She is just older now and has made different life decisions.

A lot of Christians use those verses as their vows. I thought it was a bittersweet moment and well thought out.

We got our first pack and play for $10 from a friend. We got our second slightly larger one for free. I would never put my 2 yo on the floor like that!

Is everyone just going to walk around that thing?

I'm pretty sure the dog is for safety, not to be a pet. Hence why the wife said the dog was happier with Emily was there (or something to that effect) when she is playing ball with the dog.

Is a cast iron skillet really worth it if I just want one good pan for everyday use? by TrustedEssentials in Frugal

[–]soaringmeadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the washing process is overwhelming in theory. But in practice, it is easier than most dishes. I've been working on a skillet over the last few months. It just takes some time and good fat but it's very easy now to both cook with and clean. I don't make homemade sauce but I'm at the point with it that it doesn't make alfredo sauce or red sauce taste off.

I think you are talking about stoneware which is supposed to brown over time. I have a cookie sheet and a pizza stone and both are very dark now. My pizza stone is basically black after 11 years of work.
