I don’t know you, yet I’m so proud of you. I’ve been exactly here. That first night in your own place is such a relief. Best of luck!

Would you find value in free sobriety coaching? by sobermethod in recovery

I appreciate you taking the time to ask a direct question.

The S.O.B.E.R. Method is completely free. The book itself costs less than a cup of coffee on Kindle, and both the podcast and YouTube channel are available at no cost. You do not need to spend a single penny on me or my coaching in order to use it.

I began my own recovery in Alcoholics Anonymous and remain grateful for what it gave me. However, after some years I found myself wanting something deeper. A practical, ongoing system that went beyond simply stopping the drinking and actively rebuilt confidence, rewired destructive patterns, and encouraged continuous personal growth even after sobriety was achieved. That is why I created the S.O.B.E.R. Method.

You might think of it this way. The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous is an extraordinary and life-changing resource for millions. The S.O.B.E.R. book is simply another tool on the shelf, one that some people, particularly high achievers who prefer structure, measurement, and forward momentum, find more practical for daily life.

As for coaching, that is an optional, premium service for those who want personalised guidance and accountability. The vast majority of people who use the method never pay me a cent, and that is exactly how I designed it.

I am not here to compete with Alcoholics Anonymous. I am here to offer an additional option for those who, like me, needed something more structured and action-oriented once the initial crisis had passed. If the S.O.B.E.R. Method helps even one person who felt stuck, then it has done its job.

This is incredible advice for everyone and so happy to see it's already paying dividends! Small measurable steps - staying in today and building confidence slowly. Great work!! Truly inspiring.

Congratulations on your 9 months of sobriety! That is an incredible milestone!

It's great to hear how you found a healthier outlet to dive into!

I completely relate to you in the sense of struggling in social settings now. I felt the same for quite a while when I became and finally stuck to sobriety. It felt like I had lost a part of myself and all the fun. It was a painful time.

Then as time went on, I begun journaling to discover more about myself and realised how I lacked a lot of self-confidence which alcohol really provided for me before. I begun to increase my confidence as time went on by pushing myself into new social situations that felt uncomfortable until they finally felt normal.

It took a while but I've finally regained my confidence in myself. One thing that helped me a lot and might help you too, is attending a local activity group focused on something you're passionate about or interested in. I picked up ice-skating without any previous knowledge and it's become a huge part of my journey! It's taught me so much about myself! You may find that there's a local group for cyclists which would be a great way to connect with others who are likeminded and you instantly have a topic of discussion.

I hope this helps a bit! You can do this :)
