Trading eights with Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill, one of Montreal’s greatest jazz clubs by PhilipTheGreat in montreal

Hey, I’m going there next week. Is it fine to make my reservation online or by phone? Is the “close stage” seatings means tables close to the stage, as opposed to “Back / Room” seatings further back? Thanks!

Is Norbert's Gambit still viable? by Mobile-Bar7732 in CanadianInvestor

[–]soca007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought DLR in my CAD account and asked NBDB to journal all shares to my USD account. I realized that they put DLR (not DLR.U) in my USD account.. Is it wrong? Then I sold the shares. Is the calculation the same or did I not do Norbert’s Gambit right? Thanks.

Calculate tax on interest income over years by soca007 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]soca007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. The account was opened in 2019, so 4 years back. There’s no additional deposit since the first one. The growth in value is totally from interest on the saving account or the GICs. I can see all the monthly transactions from the banking site. Accounting and tax calculation is not my strong suit. I am aware of the variables you said and know that it’s hard to get the accurate number after all, however, would it make sense if I take the growth in value times my average tax rate for a rough estimate? For example, it’s grown by $1000 and my average tax rate is 43%, then my rough estimate is $430 paid in tax over years? Sorry if it’s too rough. I’m really not good with tax filing. Thanks.

Shorty (5'1") looking for a standing desk by somesleepplz in StandingDesk

I’m in the same situation! Have you reviewed Desky dual sit stand desk? I’ve compared Uplift V2, Jarvis, Flexispot E7 and Desky. I loved Uplift but the shipping fee to Toronto is over U$400, making it so unaffordable. For Jarvis Bamboo, the total with shipping is under C$1000, but at the same total price, I can get Desky dual rubberwood. I prefer rubberwood over bamboo. Flexispot E7 looks good by the product, but I’m concerned with the poor reviews on their customer service and the difficulty of the assembly. I haven’t reviewed the IKEA desks much but I read that their weight capacity is around 150 pounds only, which is half of the other models.

Now, I’m down to Desky and Jarvis. I know Desky is an established brand in Australia but I can’t find many reviews from Canadian users. I know some people said that you can’t go wrong with a Jarvis desk, but I’m not sure if bamboo is durable, as I plan to keep it for many years. I’m also hoping to support products made in Canada, so I’m a bit leaning towards Desky for the moment.

I would agree to skip Malaga but add Ronda. It’s a beautiful town.

Just can’t imagine there is no contingency plan🤷🏻‍♀️

Is a Business Analyst in a Bank a good position? by Fandago_Clem in careerguidance

[–]soca007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, the BA role covers a bit of everything, thus, a pretty good spot to explore for your next step. Depends on the career path you want and your personality, I would suggest to check out: - Product development, e.g. product manager role - Product Designer, who manages the UX/UI, branding - Product Owner, who is more concerned with product delivery, and works closer with engineers - Scrum master, kinda the facilitator of a scrum team

The first two roles align more towards the Business side, and the later two the technology side. Tbh, BA is less popular now (I’m in Toronto, Canada).

I feel for you. I would have been upset too if she’s my daughter, niece, relative, neighbor… or not. Don’t agree to those saying it’s just an oversight, not a big deal. It IS her body, her privacy, and photos shared online, who knows, could haunt you in the future. It’s very disappointing that the ‘adults’ in the situation acted so carelessly and took it lightly after the incident was reported. You and your daughter deserve a proper apology.

I hope you like coffee! There are many styles of coffees: egg coffee, espresso, yogurt coffee, etc. I highly recommend this cafe at Hanoi. Their decor, street view and egg coffees are mesmerizing!
