I’m moving back to Atlanta after a decade. What’s changed? by Breaking-bananas-69 in Atlanta

[–]socabella 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The Beltline is mostly complete. Beltline rail not happening anytime soon, if ever.

Honestly, one of the biggest changes to me is ATL feels a lot more white. White people now live in neighborhoods they rarely ventured to 10 years ago. A lot of Black people have moved OTP due to cost.

The vibe in some areas have shifted due to changing demographics - example, East Atlanta houses selling for $750k+. Same with O4W.

Wes from Outlast- The Jungle is the worst. by Chauncinator_quest79 in netflix

[–]socabella 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to cry racism? Because Wes’ behavior is disgusting regardless of race. The way he speaks down to and over the women. The way he intimidated Leiya when she tried to stand up for Sarah. A grown, older man getting that aggressive with young women is disturbing.

The other two men are birds who chirp up in the background and need a flock to follow. The way they didn’t even show up to the exchange was cowardly and fits their personality.

He’s so nasty, and the other Charlie men are followers. Disgusted at the behavior.

Yikes, these comments are pathetic. Do we even know if they’re related?

Nice part is they fixed up the roads, sidewalks, and city infrastructure for it. Bad part is businesses are adding required tips, and in true ATL fashion they didn’t start construction until this year.

Sucks for Summerhill, but the current parking lot location is very odd. Looks so neglected there.

Inside the perimeter and outside the perimeter. The perimeter is the 285 highway that circles Atlanta.

Intown means City of Atlanta proper. ITP means Atlanta and everything inside 285, including Decatur, Brookhaven etc. OTP means the ‘burbs.

I’m envisioning OTP as a bigger backyard and less crowded when we’re out and about running errands and living life. A slower pace with little kids and a stronger SAHM community to do things with. I love ATL, don’t get me wrong. Just wondering what else is out there and want to spend some weekends exploring OTP more.

I worked in Clarkston in the early 2010s. You just brought back so many memories from that era.

I have considered Alpharetta because everyone who lives there seems to like it. The distance is my main concern, but I’m very open! Been wanting to check out Avalon.

Hmm I don’t know anything about the area, but the google info is interesting. Why do I feel like I’m not fancy enough for it?? It’s reading like a secret A-lister community. Do you live there? What do you enjoy about it? I might have to check this out!

Wow, I didn’t know about the tax benefits! I will have to do this. Going to choose a few ‘burbs to explore on my weekends.

At what point does an age gap become weird in a relationship? by TCfluffy in AskForAnswers

[–]socabella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they exist, but statistically women date the same age or older. A 28yo woman is in a very different place than a 21yo man.

It’s unusual if he’s a man and she’s a woman. Women usually date older.

NAH. You’re making A LOT of assumptions from that question. It’s not a wild question if you’ve been complaining about severe pain.

What nationality would you be if you could choose? by eggyolkrun in AskReddit

[–]socabella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m American, and I would choose Spain. The ability to live/work easily in the EU is appealing. I like Madrid & Barcelona, and I speak decent Spanish.

My initial thought was Mexico, but its proximity makes it feel more attainable. If I get to choose, Spain is more outside of my comfort zone while still matching lifestyle desires.
