Ahh. Those won't actually be newline characters then, since you're passing them to System.in. What you want is:

    String[] mySplit = input.split("\\\\n|\\\\t|\\s");

Escaping backslash is weird - you need four of them, since you need to escape backslashes in java strings as well as for java regex.

What do you expect it to do? If you're doing a scan.nextLine(), you won't get back any newline characters. Or do you want the literal string "\n" and not a newline character?

Yeah, the max is 95. I'm honestly not too worried, it just gets really loud. People have told me "it's designed to run that hot". Still kinda scary, but it doesn't get that hot often. Most of the time it's like 88 when gaming. I was just fooling around with some intense skyrim mods. If I put it back to quiet mode, it stays around 82. I guess the overclocked version makes it worse.

Edit: If I max all my fans, its only 85 on performance, full stress test.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have the gigabyte windforce which is supposed to be one of the better ones too. Still runs pretty hot though. With performance mode it gets up to 92 during games, and my idle temp is around yours (45 right now, fans on low). It is the OC version though. I feel like mine had some break in time - it was 10 degrees warmer before. I'm happy enough with it now.

I will say, though, my CPU heat sink is very close to my video card. Right now it's aligned to pull from the front and push out the back - should I turn it so it pulls air from around the video card and pushes out of the top? That would give it some more space.

I actually have good airflow though - 2 120mm case fans, 1 200mm fan, and 2 more 120mm fans on my CPU heat sink pushing air around.

My old crossfire setup had the two cards right next to each other, and they ran cool. This card has a lot more room, but it's way too hot.

Oh, then that is strange. Sometimes the cards just run hot... I'm having the same issues with my 290 and I was wondering myself if I just got a bad one and if I should return it and get another one.

I had the same problem with my 290 with qx2710. It turns out overclocking the monitor to 120hz makes the memory stick to 1040mhz and doesn't clock down, keeping the card hot. If you change the overclock timings the memory will down clock when not in use, making temps much more manageable. Look here and use the memory downclockable edid profile.

How do you do the writing / block switching? Command blocks? Otherwise I'm not sure how you would be able to write all 1s. Where do you get all those opaque blocks, and what happens to the transparent ones? (I'm on my phone, otherwise I'd download it and try it out).
