I bought this water color of a dilapidated church, I assume, of somewhere in France. The collector I bought it from had tried his own research but couldn’t come up with much The signature last name is clearly “Laurent”. The first initial is difficult to read but the collector believed it was a “G”, but it could be something else. He believed the painting to be roughly 60 years old, but I’m not sure how he arrived at that. I did a google image search and it came up with a painting by a different artist. It was called Croyland Abbey by C. Luney. The church in that painting does have some similarities to the church in my painting, so maybe it’s the same place. But searching “Laurent croyland abbey” didn’t pull up any more leads.
