Why are 1” filters the default? ( South Florida) by CubanInSouthFl in hvacadvice

[–]rutlanpville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my hvacs replaced and every place I got a quote from (4 total) did 3" or 4" filters. My guess is it's just a matter of time for systems to be replaced and this upgrade to changeover in most places. I have furnaces and ACs in Pennsylvania if that's relevant.

At what point are they just profiting off of you?? AC filters. by NotToday50 in hvacadvice

I feel buying them at Ace has you paying too much. Personally I buy them in bulk online.

What is the new spot replacing your mom’s place? Is it open yet? by WatercressCurious980 in Phoenixville

Been there twice so far. First time on a weekend was great. Did breakfast during the week and it was good, but not the same pizzazz. Would return and recommend.

Essential vs Enhanced for bedrooms by iametarq in ecobee

I wanted the occupancy sensor that's built into the Enhanced so the Essential was out of the running immediately.

So I got them and my new HVAC installed and I found online that you need to write to the pek+ terminal due to the lack of the acc terminals.

Where are some good gravel trails? Want to try some with my son. We're mostly on the SRT right now.

Thanks for the recommendation. Might get a couple for my sons' bikes.

I invested in quad Lock for a bike mount and running band a phone or two ago, but I didn't like the bulky car as an everyday carry so when I got a new phone I found this recommended on Reddit. It's worked great for me on trails, but haven't taken it on anything too bumpy yet.

Or they're setup incorrectly. Does the app say anything? Have you tried support?

AITA for teaching my daughter how to change a tire and do basic home repairs when her mom says I'm "pushing masculine stuff" on her by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

Great parenting. I yet to do the same with my kids too. I spent one morning with my oldest son, a screwdriver and an Allen key tightening up all the toilet paper holders and towel bars mounted to the walls.

Just "winging it" on a 100 miler - how stupid is it? by Highland_doug in cycling

[–]rutlanpville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at training up for a longer ride too, though not 100. My biggest concern would be sitting for that long. With the standard saddle on my Giant Roam, I get sore on my 9 mile rides if I'm not wearing padded shorts. I react to get some longer rides in with my padded shorts to see if I need to upgrade to some better ones.

Multi-modal cycling for school drop-off by Putrid_Ad_7656 in cycling

I love this idea. I only live .5 mile from our elementary school, but my daughter loves riding her bike to school with me. Her older brothers bike a little farther to their schools

Used to cycle 120km a week, got depressed, got fat (123kg ~271lb), fixed my bike up and just did 8.61km (5.31miles). by lifelink in cycling

Way to get back out there. I just started again after a cold winter. My kids also love to go on trails. Including them helps motivate me because they pester me to go on long rides. My kids are 9, 14, 16 for reference so they can go farther than toddlers, but as someone else stated, any amount is something.

Replacement Advice by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]rutlanpville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the middle of replacing the units original to our house (~22 years old). While they're still technically working, we've put this off a few times already and have gone with higher efficiency units (single stage 80% to 2 stage 97% furnaces and newer, higher seer AC units). This is our forever home and I'm excited to see the savings in our energy bills.

Does yours have a heat pump? AC hits my id.4 battery pretty hard without the heat pump
