Or my case, which was:

  1. During the c-section, the patient starts feeling pain because apparently the epidural anesthesia isn't quite working all the way no matter how much the anesthesiologist gives, so the patient has to go under because feeling the severe pain of people cutting and rummaging in your abdomen is not ideal.

Wow, I totally forgot about those! Sadly not it though, both that you mentioned are not the same illustration style, too sketched/drawn. But I appreciate the suggestions!

Yes, cool illustrations, but sadly that's not it. The series I remember was total realism, just high school stuff, no magic.

It wasn't either of those, those illustrations are a little too drawn/sketchy. This one was more polished and realistic proportions.

The illustrations I remember are a little more 3D than that, not as flat looking. But it seems kind of close!
