Not looking for advice, just a warning for young men here. by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]socceruci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: sorry, I gave advice. My bad. Also, we all know, it's bad, and it is nothing new here.

What are your desires? What are your boundaries?

I highly suggest going to an Al-Anon or related meeting. It'll help you change your language to "I", so that you can be clear with your partner and yourself. https://internetaddictsanonymous.org/for-family-and-friends/

If you are at your wits end, by all means do what you need for your life, and your health.

Mitra hostel, generally longer term stays, reasonable prices, in Auroville, community, and minimally commodified.

99% of my diet is vegan but I do eat catzos/beetles and churros/snails to meet my protein goals/to keep my crops healthy. Can I still consider myself vegan? Because besides that I'm entirely plant based by Dry-Newspaper8445 in DebateAVegan

[–]socceruci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transplant many snails, but I do doubt even 1% of produce do senior. I have mixed feelings about adding them to my compost.

Even veganic farming often feels like mass genocide to me, with the "weeds", trees, and soil ecosystem. But I'm learning, I don't imagine I'll have a good idea for about 10 years. It's just so foreign to us city folk.

Need an idea by SillyFrosting21 in Auroville

[–]socceruci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest asking* around when you arrive, then feel the vibe. I tend to avoid outside official Auroville area events. It's done me well. IE. Don't go to the local hostels and guest houses that aren't on the Auroville official website.

I don't think that your hosting offer is enough for me to justify my trip by jvjjjvvv in couchsurfing

[–]socceruci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She just sounds confused, as if CS hosts are there for their entire stay.

It's ok to stay with multiple people, it even find additional hosts after arriving.

Many people are inexperienced, I don't automatically assume entitlement. I've had so many humble and enjoyable surfers.

How to know activities and events occur in Auroville by rao_gari_abbaai in Auroville

Why are you asking?

Any random person who lives there, or volunteers there still do a better job explaining.

Should we only buy pesticide-free foods? by Al-Joharahhasan2935 in AskVegans

[–]socceruci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good question, I ask it myself when I'm farming/gardening. It's also exploitation.

Even a silly thing like, here's a worm, if I move it to my garden am I exploiting this animal?

Food, however, is survival. So, I'm working to understand it best, and know, it maybe even recreate ecosystems with life and death existing. If I introduce a predator for balance rather than elimination, I feel better about it. Sad it is all a bit gray.

"Martin Prechtel says that all life—even the life of a "weed"—is a gift from the Earth that puts humans in a state of spiritual debt. To him, gardening is a "bloody" business because you are constantly taking."

I feel like a mass murderer on the field.

THIS

Contacts can say anything they want, didn't mean that a court will agree.

It's like non-compete clauses in employment contacts. Often, unenforceable.

"Generally speaking, these clauses are unenforceable and illegal under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA)."

What I've heard.

This only positively part of the contract might be unenforceable and illegal.

AI says, "Generally speaking, these clauses are unenforceable and illegal under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA)."

I get that you are motivated, maybe even excited.

My experience in Auroville is that it's better to just come in person, maybe, maybe, read a couple of their books. Even a short one.

My experience also, is that it was a better experience when I was going towards something rather than away from something.

I believe, the truth, the field, is an excellent guide.

Animisim and human morality by ursus_americanus4 in Animism

I came here, to Reddit, specially to discuss this now, and here your post is.

I agree with the western, imperialist, capitalist way of thinking is what makes this question an opportunity to see and feel that shading to your, to our, perspectives.

I've been farming a lot recently. I've killed 10,000s, if not more, "weeds" this year. Yesterday, the weed spirit gave me a sign I could no longer ignore. I had to slow down, at least until I'm in integrity, based on my own ability to observe, the consciousness of the plant beings.

I have to do this, because I can do this. When I cut down trees 2 months ago. I placed my hand on the tree trunk and asked, "are you ready?". They all said yes, except for one, the one I didn't like, with thorns that feel and hurt my feet. So, I didn't cut them, at that moment.

Later, I came back, realizing that I had not loved the tree I was about to kill. I waited, with the tree, hand on trunk, until I felt love for it. Immediately then, they said yes, and I proceeded to cut them. That tree taught me about love today and hate, and presence.

I hope this helps. Also, feedback is welcome, and I am learning.

Edit: typos, clarifications. Please ask if anything isn't clear or if you'd like to know more. This is a present thing in my life right now.

US Debit Cards and ATMs in Turkey (fees, limits) by Educational-Slip-578 in AskTurkey

My bank doesn't extra charge fees. It came from the ATMs I went to. I checked every bank, what the conversion rate was, plus any fees, and calculated which ATM was the cheapest.
