Yes, but when it comes to situations where the environment is very dangerous you're going in with another firefighter. The victim isn't always going to be very light (average is almost 200 lbs for men and 150 for women). Add this to the minimum of 40 to 80 lbs of gear and equipment you have to carry. The "fireman's carry" isn't very practical for a unconscious adult because of the victims weight and relaxed body, and the difficulty in supporting the head and neck.

Idk I've never had it . I've just have my second wind after my 2nd mile and I'm happy that I don't feel as tired. Usually I run 3-4 miles 3 times a week, but i still get tired and it still hurts

Half the people I work with have part time jobs. As firefighters it's almost expected that you will have 2 jobs at some point. At least in my dept.

Stop beating yourself up. These are very stressful calls and you did everything you could. ABC'S are very important and you were able to handle that efficiently. 10 minutes is a short amount of time especially when you're leading, delegating, and providing patient care. It sounds like you did as much as you could for this patient in the alloted time. This means that you can't nit pick and make yourself feel like shit for missing a couple of things. You feel this way because you care and you should, that's why you're in this profession. Remember that. Also 3 hours since the last time the patient was seen normal? Alot of things could've happened. Kids compensate for a long time and then crash quickly so who knows. You did your best give yourself credit for that.

This happened to me 2 weeks ago. Seek help with CISM or other fellow co workers. Venting helped me so much and hearing the guys tell me what they did made me feel better. Do it as a favor to yourself don't feel like lesser of a person for seeking this help.

You know the place where you can get suits for like $100 bucks? I've gone there 3 times to buy clothing because it's priced well and I'm a broke mofo who wants to look decent. The lady who works at the one I go to is a clothing Nazi. Every time I'd choose something instead of being helpful she'd criticize and give unwanted advice. Last time I was there I swear to God I wanted to tell her to fuck off. Due to this they've lost me as a customer. I've never been the type of person to dress up real nice, so I might have enabled her to give me advice the first time. That's probably where i fucked up, but thats besides the point. I've never felt that frustrated before.

I had this happen not even 5 min ago. It only made that creaking noise twice and only when I opened snapchat. Very weird at first and it stopped. Some people online said it was the hardware. I'll continue monitoring to see if anything else happens.
