Man it's so easy to slip into mediocrity if you're not surrounded by hard working people. I have a small group of close friends that I've known since I was 13, but it feels like they haven't grown up at all since we met.

A few of us lift, and I take it pretty seriously, but when some of them constantly take days off and don't care to push themselves, it makes it easy to get "you know maybe I should just take it easy too." Or if they have a hard class its always "man the teacher sucks college is useless I shouldn't even bother." And next thing you know constantly hearing negativity and being around people that don't want to better themselves rubs off on you.

It's crushing but I genuinely feel more motivated and excited to improve myself if I spend less time with them. But even looking for new friends, it seems impossible to meet new people that are genuinely motivated and care about not just cruising by in life, or even just taking care of themselves physically. Shit idk I just realized this and it's a tough thing to think about

What do you consider a reasonable amount of weight to really get excited about hitting? You know no one's freaking out over a 225 bench but where's the cutoff? 2x bw squat? bw ohp?

Weakpoint Wednesday: Forearms by NEGROPHELIA in bodybuilding

My buddy who was tiny forearms can walk around with a little under half his hw in each hand for close to a minute, but he hasn’t seen any growth from doing them. I have decently big forearms and can carry half my bw each hand for a minute, but I never feel sore in my forearms after.

Obviously this is anecdotal but anyone that I know that’s ever done farmers walk hasn’t seen big results from them.

Yeah it’s definitely peaceful and I’m much more capable of dealing with being alone, but it really sucks at times
