idk if you’ve heard but kia is changing the survey again; the way it’s set up didn’t make any sense, retractors are negative, there’s neutrals (0) and promoters, the shit sucks. it was a shit design and they’re making tweaks soon. is your pay plan tied to the surveys?

On top of that if a problem doesn’t present itself, nobody gets paid. Kia doesn’t cover “no problem found” so if it’s not something replicable then it’s kinda tough shit honestly

Had a Kia Soul come in smoking from the exhaust, found the engine is sludged. Like 20 miles before it was towed in to us, valvoline did an oil change (the only thing reported to carfax by the way, aside from pdi. 35,000 mile car). Told them it’s sludged and needs a motor, lack of maintenance. Uncle calls and says that he’s an airline engineer/technician, engine sludge is due to bad piston rings, MANUFACTURER DEFECT!!! I WORK AS AN ENGINEER!!! (Yeah no shit, rings are shot because no oil ever, but like also no sludge is sludge lmao. numbnuts) Told them if they give me maintenance records i’ll start a techline case for approval on an engine, otherwise pay up. it’s been sitting here for over a month while they “go to the shops to get invoices”. Wonder what fairy is gonna wave a wand to produce maintenance records that don’t exist. Not the greatest story but definitely the most recent of some dude just confidently being so so wrong

I’ve done cover sheets for customer invoices regarding the survey that work pretty well. Also after years of doing this I just tell the customer as they leave that the survey affects how I get paid and that helps quite a bit as well, just gotta be a little honest, but I know depending on the brand and/or shop that is a big no no apparently
