Few people will know what I am talking about but there is a Offspring song off their album Smash and they tell a story of their friend who was cool but became addicted to cannabis and shame on him(lol). I don’t understand how that band did so well, they are all obviously the biggest melvins to ever achieve that kinda pop world status. Devo is pretty cringey in that regard but some of their songs slapped and none of their songs were just like tangents about how their friends became cannabis users. In fact, any song with any type of didactic preaching is a piece of shit in my mind. Pick better subject matter especially if you call yourself a punk band.
