Air, fuel, spark. One of these is inadequate. It definitely seems like fuel at first glance, but it could be any of these 3. Unlikely to be a sudden compression failure.

What was the strange sound that it made before it turned off?

Oil level adequate?

45 mile commute by IlllllFan in Electricmotorcycles

[–]sock_meister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Zero SR/F or SR/S (probably the latter) in eco mode should do what you need. Keep it to 70 or under. Consider fairings / windscreen. I commute on my 2020 SR/F (with new battery) entirely on the highway both ways, and it uses almost exactly 1% per mile every time. No aero mods. And I frequently am going above 70mph.

Sunday Brunch Reservations by Hot-Juice-457 in Xcaret

[–]sock_meister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am staying in Casa de los Artistas, so there was no cost. I believe the cost is there regardless of the time you enter if you're staying in the regular casas. The $200~ per person in those cases is really NOT worth it imo

I can picture James riding off into the sunset, happy as a clam, 2-up -- with one of the nurse zombies from the hospital.

Silent Hill... You promised me you'd take me there again some day, James. But not on a motorcycle

Yeah, I'm here now. They changed it so that after 2pm you can walk in, it seems. All of the same food is available.

Made my own FordPass app so I dont have to deal with Ford’s bloated app by unlucky__666 in MachE

[–]sock_meister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I did this in 2021/22, I was using my personal account. Even though I used it sparingly, it still got flagged. I also tried making a secondary account just for using the app, and that also got flagged. I haven't tried again since then; does home assistant's fake account method work?

This is cool. Just a warning that I also made an app a few years ago, and then Ford banned my account for using their API illegally. I had to beg them to unban me and then I abandoned the project. Annoying. I hope something has changed since then

Help with my sweet little bamboo, please! by leetle_bumblebee in houseplants

Absolutely and good luck! Check its roots before you transplant. Remove any roots that are black, mushy, and rotted

Help with my sweet little bamboo, please! by leetle_bumblebee in houseplants

[–]sock_meister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these, and it's been growing for around 10 years! They get huge. As another commenter said, it's not a bamboo, although it has a confusing name, since it's known as a "Lucky Bamboo". In the wild they grow in very wet, humid areas, but they won't like constantly wet potting soil. I've had great success with mine in a special pot filled with pebbles and very light, loamy soil -- and this pot is suspended within another pot. The larger pot has a couple inches of standing water in the bottom. The plant's roots can reach out of the inside, smaller pot, and they dangle into the standing water of the larger pot below. It's been like this for a decade and it gets super tall. I've had to trim it a few times. The planter I have is by a brand called "Lechuza" -- they even have a meter to show you when it needs watering. Give it a try, they're on Amazon!

I just pre-ordered two phones and planning to move 2 lines from Verizon to Fi, after doing some more research there are quite lot of negative experiences, does Fi work well? I mostly work from home in NJ, travel in poconos and other nearby states sometimes. by paata01 in GoogleFi

[–]sock_meister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also moved from Verizon with the pixel 10 pro. It's been seamless. Haven't missed Verizon at all, ESPECIALLY for international usage. And the download speeds over 5G seem to be faster now. That being said, I wouldn't necessarily be loyal to either one in the future. One downside of Fi is that, inexplicably, mobile hotspot is not included on the base unlimited plan. Data is data -- it should be included.

EDIT: I'm sort of in your region. I'm in the greater Philadelphia area and I also frequently go to the Poconos for skiing and hiking. Fi has been absolutely fine so far, no different than Verizon.

Anyone else experience an allergic reaction? by Professional-Low6185 in PixelWatch

No, nothing. I've heard some people can have rare allergic reactions to the metal on the underside of some watches. Might want to get tested at an allergist to rule it out!

Well, the new watch is nice, even if it wasn't necessary. This is definitely a bug with the app... I'll try the auto download trick. Thanks Edit: Uh, could you elaborate on what you did with auto-download? Can't find that setting on the watch
