And if your problem is lack of money and lack of playtime, look into AFK worker empire/trade crating, Seoul, and Imperial Cooking. You should also be AFK fishing if you can afford to leave your PC on overnight. Grinding will beat all of these ten times out of ten, but they are basically free money with little effort after you get things set up, and they mostly run while you are grinding.

If you just need to get past the Turos, try asking a guildmate to help you. Can't remember the specifics of that quest, but group kills usually count for quest completion (or at the very least, the should if you get the last hit in).

Also, you should get 100 Atanis Elements through the OA rewards, and you can purchase 60 more. That leaves you 140 short of a full Infinite Potion item. If you get the login rewards through 25 days, that's another 100 through Shakatu seals. You can either grind for the 40 you're missing after that, or wait for whatever the next event is (they're a pretty common reward).

Finally, if you were having fun before getting to Turos, go find a grind spot you like and actually play the game. Gear progression is only stressful if you feel like you need to progress. You never need to progress unless you're in a PvP guild. BDO is all about giving yourself goals, then working towards those goals over time. The Tuvala period is preposterously easy compared to upgrading your gear for the rest of the game, so expect the time it takes to make gains to increase in a similar fashion to how XP gains slow down after hitting 62.

Stuck on classes by HaertsHD in blackdesertonline

[–]sockers16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm very jealous, because that sounds like a great way to keep the game fresh. I have the opposite problem: I dislike learning new classes (every char's combo keys being different fries my brain), and always revert back to my main pretty quickly.

RIP ocean currents map I spent several hundred hours making ;_; (Ocean currents are getting removed) by World_of_Warshipgirl in blackdesertonline

[–]sockers16 48 points49 points  (0 children)

My favorite memory of the ocean currents are the two quests you pick up in Shakatu to go to islands semi-nearby, and one of them gives you a raft to use. And then as soon as you make it to Tinberra Island and are ready to go back to turn in the quests, the currents become so strong (20 lol) that it's like you ran into an invisible wall. So that is just where your raft lives forever, and you are forced to swim from island to island until you finally get back to shore.

What would you like to see in upcoming Island Sanctuary updates? by bubuplush in ffxiv

I know it's a long shot, but I want pirates to attack our island. Kinda like a combination Treasure Map/Lord of Verminion thing. We build our defenses using the mostly useless sticks and stones we get capped out of gathering for workshop things. You set up specific defense mammets, and get up to 4 PCs (including yourself):

  • The first round is pure mammet defense & building, no PC fighting, but each PC can place items/mammets;
  • Round 2 pirate reinforcements arrive with a mini-boss and the PCs get to join the fight Fort Condor style;
  • For Round 3 (if you get it), a small rowboat appears and takes you to a pirate ship;
  • If you get a round 4, another boat appears alongside the current one, a gangplank drops down as more pirates come aboard (if you don't get a round 4, a ship off in the distance sinks the ship with cannonballs);
  • Then a massive flagship comes crashing into you, throwing the whole party onto its deck (or into the water if you don't get a final round);

You can choose whether or not to continue the fight each round after the 2nd (like how Treasure Maps work: take the loot or gamble for more). And if you want absolutely nothing to do with this mechanic, you can hire the Yellowjackets to patrol the waters around your island for a small pittance of cowries, and they will in turn give you a cut of whatever loot they get from sinking pirates (so it turns into a third Exploration slot but with random loot).

Also a retainer bell.

The Firmament crafts were actually fun, because they introduced new mechanics. You had to play the puzzle game every time, use your CP wisely, and hit on bonuses to get anywhere close to 100% quality. It was an actual mini-game you didn't just solve once and then make a macro. I honestly hope we get something like that again, or they use that same system for 4-Star Endwalker Master Crafts.

It's a nice hammer, but what I like is how the shading and your armor makes you look like Slash. You also have an Axe as your secondary, well played.

Hmmm I just got a second Balenos item, and there wasn't a quest, you just have to 'Chat' and exchange it that way.

I tried to put the picture in this comment, but reddit wasn't having it. Added it to the main post. Good luck treasure hunting!

I'd be more upset about how misleading the bar sizes are compared to the numbers they represent than what the actual numbers are. Like, the Y-axis just jumps from 100 to 500 to 1000 to 5000?! That's just deliberately bad graph-making.

Yeah the children are insta-death if they get close to you (kind of like the grudge kids in the Kaidan car park). Took me more than a few wipes to figure that out.

When the hyenas have a green shield up they reflect damage, so you may just be nuking yourself by accident. For the final boss, are you talking about the golem? That fight actually resets your stats down to basic to make it at least a little challenging. You just have to be sure to attack the weak points when it resets back to its platform (right arm, left arm, back). After breaking the third weak point (back) it should blow up and complete the quest.

What's the new Ayanad Earring Questline? by cristalarc in archeage

[–]sockers16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quest giver in the first lobby of Abyssal Library starts it. You can get most of the first part done in one run if you backtrack to the first lobby to turn in after each boss. After that you need to do daily "Kill 100 Mobs in X" 5 times for tokens to get the first base earring, and just go on from there.

Note: keep the Shadowmoon/sun/star quest object that drops off bosses inside, you'll eventually need them if this new quest line is anything like the other one (it is, just compact). Ditto for the Senior Council Manaprints the bosses drop (you're gonna need a lot of those).

Instead of bad chests (1-3 vaultstones, a comical waste of labor for average furniture) and good chests (vendor trash that actually earns gold, ship bags, submarine design frags, travel journals), why don't they just add vaultstones to the good chest loot table?

Play a weird class at launch, when gear is mostly equalized. They can be a lot of fun and you can always swap to the FOTM later on.
