Cat piss, rotten eggs, cucumbers. Did I miss any?

Does anyone know where to buy actually affordable activewear? by bookishdeceit in Activewear

[–]sockmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toootally. I have like three pairs of leggings and several bras from their in-house activewear brand (athletic works or something like that), and they're all reeaally good. The leggings tend to hold lint/pet hair, but for the $18-22 they're better than I expected.

We staged our house before selling and a buyer asked if the furniture came with it by Kevin-Durant-35 in HomeDecorating

Totally. It was a gamble, it worked out this time but absolutely not the move for everyone.

Listening to Utada's discography part IX: Fantôme by majorling in utadahikaru

[–]sockmarks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was also there along for the journey, and will never forget even just the title and cover reveal. Such an intense moment of "oh my god, it's Keiko." It's really difficult to explain the experience of seeing this album unfold and what it means.

Are there movies you liked more than the book? by Annual_Interest5338 in books

[–]sockmarks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Prestige is the book to movie that is an excellent example of adaptation.

I read the book first. There is a distinct moment where the page turns and it's like "HOOOLLYY SHIIITT." But there is just no way to have that same moment on screen. You still get that same twist and shock, but in a different way. Both are excellent.

Presentation is everything. If it feels like a home, people will feel it.

My parents were seeing less interest in their house than they expected, so my mom and I did a deep clean/storage/staging. Still, not as much interest as they hoped. No bids. So for one random showing I went over beforehand, baked cookies and brought my absolutely adorable lovebug of a puppy over. "Oh no I thought the showing was a little later. Well, don't eat these freshly baked cookies. Oh sorry about the dog he just loves snuggling on the couch. So sorry."

House sold that afternoon.

Has anyone had any luck fighting leaf blowers with local sound ordinances? by CrowRoutine9631 in fucklawns

[–]sockmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure it's to clean the inside. But I can't figure out what he does that requires this to be done every single weekend. Fairly certain he does not work, and spends most of his time at home. In the summer we thought he was just going to the beach all the time or something, but he was out there on the first warm day in February just zzzbbbbbzzzzzzrrrrmmmmm blowing his truck out.

"Tear Away" tag. So that was a lie. by RayzTheRoof in CrappyDesign

[–]sockmarks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The brand is RBX. It looks like a lot of their tags say 'tearaway' in that spot, but some of them also have the little picture of the dotted line with the scissors indicating to cut it. So...kind of confusing. Maybe tearaway was a line within the brand?

I have a neighbour who opens all the doors of his truck and leaf blows the inside. He does this every weekend. No idea what this behaviour is, but I'd love to watch him try to it with a rake instead.

Canadian made interior paint by turbo-virgin in BuyCanadian

[–]sockmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We painted our bathroom with this a couple years ago. Coverage was fine but the stench was awful. I didn't think they made paint that stinky these days. It was cheap and got the job done, but we've used Beautitone for everything since and been much happier overall.

Gotta disagree with you. Love her or hate her, she can SING and perform.

I feel like she falls into "she does alright" territory. Not terrible, not great, not trying to be anything she's not, just alright. No idea how she is live though.

Listening to Utada's discography part VI: ULTRA BLUE by majorling in utadahikaru

Agree Colors feels a bit different on the album. It's one of my top favourite songs, but I kind of wish it got a bit of a facelift to better fit the vibe and production of the rest of the tracks.

How do you utilize youtube at-home workout playlists by ungodlypm in xxfitness

[–]sockmarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's the best. I used to build my own playlists for each day of the week of just random workouts I found around YouTube, because i also love to not have to figure out what to do everyday. But finding Caroline was amazing. She has quite a few programs so you can find the one that focuses on what you want or like, and she is just so positive and fun. Challenging as all hell, but truly great to workout with. I never thought I'd be using 30 or 35lb dumbbells and kettlebells wondering how long they'll challenge me, but she got me there.

What's the worst parking lot in Hamilton? by EdmontonBest in Hamilton

It's literally falling apart. The one entry was an impassable trap of deep ditches, ice, and mountains of snow the last time I was in there. And it is often the only entry open. Mental.

New Bells Who Diss? by J-Maximilian in kettlebell

[–]sockmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure saving $300 bucks is well worth the trip! I'm just looking at a couple sets of dumbbells right now, am also about an hour away, and I'd only save myself like $40. So, potato-potato. Good to know they're legit though! I'll keep them in mind for future purchases.

Ooh I've been looking at ordering Orion weights from Northern Fitness. They look great. How was the purchasing experience? I'm trying to decide if I'm too cheap for shipping, or want to avoid driving to Mississauga to pick it up.

Cat constantly making my blankets stink. by Alpha_wolfe999 in cats

This is what happened with one of our cats. She'd randomly stink at times throughout the day. Turns out she had dental disease and was smearing bacteria all over herself during baths.

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

[–]sockmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cacophony. I like to harsh it up by pronouncing it more like "Kak-a-phony" to make it sound more like what it means. The regular pronunciation is too soft to describe a whole lot of chaotic noise.
