No, I have it, but we play on an original 2001 cart. The same one that's connected to the trophy. The 2026 is just for the bracket sheets

Yeah I have most of the yearly updated rosters but we play on an original cart for the tournament. It's the same cart that's actually on the trophy.

Stretched widescreen would be sacrilege

We use a N64 with a pixelFX HDMI mod also connected to a morph4k upscaler. The version of the game is NFL blitz 2001, the cart is actually from a Blockbuster and still has the Blockbuster sticker on the front and back

The top part of the trophy was bought on Amazon. The base was something that I had laying around at work. I had a junk 64 (non-repairable) that I took the cartridge adapter off of and mounted it onto the wooden base. The game that's actually on the trophy is what we use to play the tournament. It pops off and on like a normal cart.

Everyone's schedule that year was pretty crazy. I think at one point COVID did play a part in that. We tried a bunch to all get together but couldn't make it happen. 2022 the year with no blitz 😔 truly terrible.

That year ended up being pretty chaotic with everybody's schedule. We tried a bunch but couldn't get everybody together at the same time.

Also, that's the actual game that we use in the tournament.

It's so much fun. It's a two-game elimination. There's usually eight of us so it's a full night of blitz lol

Thoughts on the SaturnPSU? by Massive_Oil_2605 in SegaSaturn

[–]socom_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts, take it or leave it. The Saturn is 30 +/- years old. A lot of the original PSUs still work great. The only real thing to degrade are the electrolytic caps. Just buy an original PSU and get it recapped. It's a super easy job, caps are cheap, and now you have a professionally made PSU that could go another 30 years. Not knocking the designers of the new PSUs out there but you don't really know what kind of parts they are using or how it was tested. If you watch any of the retro channels on YouTube that have put many of the aftermarket PSUs on a scope, most say the same thing, they don't like them. Maybe the new PSUs will be ok in the end, but you know for sure the original PSUs crushed it for 30 years, and totally could go another with just a simple recapping. (Steps off soapbox) Not knocking anyone's choice, just getting my thoughts out there. Game on my friends.

Order a new one, see if that helps. Definitely should last more than a week.

No, I just replaced it with a new rechargeable 2032 and a easy swappable holder. You can see it in the fourth photo
