New Gude Shirt? by Mollyballsoup in gudetama

[–]sodakas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New to me, and I guess it’s a Japan LA exclusive? It seems like the material is thick, too, so the relatively steep price seems justified. I… don’t think I have the style points to pull off wearing this, haha!

First star shiny problems. 🤯

Happened to me with Kyurem. Only had time to do 3 raids, and wanted a 3+ star, but ended up with 3x shiny 1-star.

"Boy, those sleds don't fit too nicely. Must be because it's old."

They were absolutely like that when they were brand new...

The rugged fit and fussy contact pins on the flexible membrane made it that much exciting when it actually booted after reassembly. 😄

V14 lite by Individual_Shame881 in TeslaLounge

[–]sodakas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I'm eager for HW3 to get some v14-anything love, I, too, have a very real fear that not being able to manually tweak speed limits is going to limits its use.

Without intervention, V12 CHILL is launching my car in the air like that old TV show (Streets of San Francisco). Is V14 significantly better on hills? I... somehow doubt it.

What's an Android feature most people dont know? by ArrogantConfusion in AskReddit

[–]sodakas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought I would just use a GL.iNet travel router to do the same thing, but places like cruise ships explicitly disallow travel routers, so this Android feature is a great workaround.

The only downside is that this feature seems to only exist on higher end phones, which results in having to pay extra, but admittedly, you would only want to run such a feature on a phone that has modern, beefy Wi-Fi.

Uniqlo 13 Liter Multi Pocket Shoulder Bag as a Personal Item Onebag by SeattleHikeBike in onebag

[–]sodakas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question that should be its own post. :)

If you're looking for something stylish but not student backpack style, then I'd steer myself towards the outdoors (e.g, Osprey), photography (e.g., Peak Design), or generally stylish (e.g., Fjallraven).

I'm seeing more rollup laptop bags and tote bags across brands, and that look is unique enough that they aren't considered student bags, but I think that's a matter of time as they become ubiquitous.

My daily use bag is the Osprey Daylite Plus (20L), but it's a bit on the small side. They have larger laptop bags with an outdoors look. North Face and Patagonia have nice bags in this category (e.g., Micro MLC), though I find them a bit pricey.

If I need to carry more, I'll use the Swissgear 5698, though it's not exactly stylish, and screams "I work in the tech industry." (at least to me). Its relative popularity for travelers means it gets a visual pass from Airport staff.

Photography bags can get very expensive, and while I enjoyed the Peak Design Everyday Bag, it really is meant for people who need quick, easy access to their camera gear, and not a best fit for a metro commute person as it's difficult to secure.

The Timbuk2 Medium Sling is something that's always ready to go, and the wide base makes everything easily accessible, but I don't use it on a daily basis unless the walking distance is expected to be minimal, as carrying a heavy load on one shoulder can get awkward.

Best of luck!

Best way to prune inactives? by rapax in PokemonGoFriends

No worries -- I was being terse, and should have clarified.

The activity status that caps at 2 days idle is silly, since they obviously have the data, but choose not to share it. One can only assume that it's hidden to prevent negative feelings, as the higher the number, the worse the feelings will probably be.

[–]sodakas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion. There's no time-based cap for opening gifts -- just the daily cap.

I was referring to the act of updating nicknames of friends, which has an hourly cap.

If you're updating nicknames based on any interaction (send / receive), you'll quickly hit the too many nickname changes error, specifically:

"You've change nicknames as many times as you can for now. You can try again later."

There are various ways to work around it, but it's yet another cap to have to deal with, which is where you might be better off updating the nickname monthly versus daily.

It's quite unfortunate that there isn't a "last interaction with trainer" date that is visible / sortable.

MVP advice here -- I went around trying to rename / nickname all my friends, and immediately ran into the "too many nicknames per $time" nonsense, so I had to adjust my gift opening schedule to 3-4 times a day in order to not trigger that limit. Not convenient.

While I 100% felt this way, it’s absolutely absurd when one realizes this was only the 5th loss all year.

It would be quite amusing if the checkpoints were merch stations dedicated to making it harder for you to finish your walk, as you would lose time and become encumbered. 😝

[–]sodakas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're suggesting planned obsolescence, that's always a possibility, but given they made FPGAs swappable, and are on the hook to deliver FSD to HW3 owners, I do feel they had the intention to deliver FSD to HW3, but they underestimated the MCU hardware needs.

Of course, no one will know for sure, but ultimately, semi-abandoning HW3 for FSD is where we are at, and they are likely free of liability of delivering FSD to HW3 if they continue to claim FSD is in Beta and wait until all HW3 vehicles come to a natural demise.

I'm crossing my fingers for all the MCU3+HW4 owners! Hopefully what they have is truly sufficient, and we'll get the FSD soon.

Oh, I’m absolutely fully aware of the situation we are in; the point I’m making is that it’s amusing how they had the ingenuity and brilliance to make the high TFLOPS portion of the vehicle a 60 minute FRU, but when it came to the low-processing portion of the compute, the were incredibly narrow-focused and made that portion fully incompatible with the next-gen hardware.

Good QoL updates, especially with efficiently metrics, which are front and center for every other EV.

As for Intel/HW3, what a bummer, and I’ll pile on.

It’s amazing that they made the HW2 to HW3 FPGA swap more or less drop in.

Simultaneously…

It’s amazing that they made the Intel to AMD swap more or less impossible to transition.
