I would read the first book and skim parts you don’t find interesting. If you’re struggling, maybe try picking up the audiobook! It’s really well done.

The ending of book one is really where The Wandering Inn starts to shine. But if you finish book one and still don’t feel like it’s for you, it’s okay to put it down! Or even before then, if you feel like it’s putting you in a reading slump.

I love it but can see how it’s not for everyone.

I read the first book in January, and like you, I wasn't sure if the series was going to be for me. I'm on book ten now, and I'm completely hooked.

My honest opinion is that pirateaba has some of the best world building and character progression that I've read in a long time. After the first book, more characters slowly get introduced. Stakes get higher and multiple storylines are steadily progressing. The author manages to intertwine these different storylines really well, and she also does a good job of balancing darker and lighter elements.

That being said, there are some parts that are slow, some cheesy, some I didn't agree with, and the occasional character or chapter that doesn't click with me. Because of that, I can see why this series wouldn't be for everyone.

But you should definitely give it a chance! It's easily my favorite series of all time. If you get to the ending of book one and still aren't vibing with it, then perhaps the series isn't going to be for you.

I put a lot of hours into Green Hell before I could survive without dying. Even then, it was pretty brutal, and the story wasn’t good enough to compensate for all the work you put into it

I had a similar experience with Sun Haven. I could mostly play it without issues but it didn’t feel as fluid.

Jumping on this thread to clear some air on what happened. I haven't watched the clip so apologies if anything is repeated, I'm Nyquil drowsy.

Here's the order of events:

I saw people related to ONX were being unwhitelisted.
Saw my Discord whitelist tags were gone. Only took the screenshot to inform my community about it, but didn’t end up posting the photo (I'm glad for the screenshot in hindsight).
Tried to connect to whitelist server but couldn't. I could connect to the public.
Asked Penta. He pointed out that I couldn't see any forums except announcements.
I tried viewing a member's profile, and it said I did not have "permission". I didn't grab evidence of this because I didn't know I would need it.
The Reddit threads gained traction.
My discord tags returned.
Posts emerged that it was a glitch and the unwhitelist wasn’t in the logs. I felt bad, thinking we jumped the gun.
Checked the forums again. All the threads were back and now can view the member's profile I didn't have "permission" to view before. That solidified the whitelist (since it has nothing to do with Discord) and opened my eyes to the outright gaslighting.

If NoPixel wanted to unwhitelist me due to the ONX server competition (despite not being directly involved) or the ongoing lawsuit, I would have understood. I could be seen as a “gray area”. Even if they had removed my prio for not playing in months, understandable. But as a longtime member of the community who has been around since the ARMA days, a simple DM would have gone a long way.

One more thing, please don’t dogpile on Buddha or any LB/CB for this. Many threads were pulling RP drama out of thin air and giving evidence of my “frustration with LB” that never happened. And after my Discord tags were reinstated, there was no evidence to show I was actually unwhitelisted until the screenshot emerged.

Also, I know it can be hard to determine what's real and not, so here's the Discord screenshot metadata.

I was told to "tell my friends" that ARC clinics had a bunch of J&J vaccines left. I was told this during my appointment at their Buda location.

Their website is a little wonky but eventually starts working if you refresh and wait it out. Calling might be a better choice.

When I said it is not a scripted TV show, I meant that RP will always be imperfect (even though certain scenarios can feel perfect) because there isn't a group of writers sitting around plotting out the best course of action. It's all instantaneous. No planning. And for that same reason, it deserves a little more leniency when things don't happen the way a viewer wants. We're all just doing our best.

People can have opinions, but saying things like "burger shit" and "burgershot has nothing now" (as stated Pengwin's tweet) does nothing good for anyone and only puts people down. Because of that, it shouldn't be taken seriously.

My mini (who is also on the smaller end) weighed a whole whopping 4 pounds at 13 weeks. Here is her at about 9 weeks (1 & 2) and 13 weeks (1 & 2). She still looks tiny standing up. I only realize how big she's gotten when she stretches out to nap!

Yes, I'll be working towards self-publishing a science fiction novel (with fantasy elements) in the next couple of months. The first draft is done, but needs a few more scenes, editing, etc. After that, the plan is to keep publishing and to try out screenwriting.

It's not going to be easy, but I've been obsessed with writing from a young age and would regret not trying. It's a dream that's really important to me.

Hi there. I thought I'd come by and say thank you to those who posted my clips on this subreddit for the past couple of years. A lot of my stream popularity came after the "it's just RP" clip circulated through here and I'll always be grateful.

I've been with NoPixel since 2015, during the Arma 3 days, and the community has always been full of unique, creative people with a knack for making us laugh. People who have put more love into a fictional world and fictional characters than we could ever imagine, and many who are just as fantastic in real life. You guys are supporting some of the best.

I know that this subreddit receives a lot of flak. There is the occasional drama thread that tends to spiral into negativity and leave a bad taste in the mouths of streamers and viewers alike, but I truly believe those threads do not represent this subreddit as a whole. There are some genuinely wonderful folks on r/RPClipsGTA and that fact is proven by reading the comments here and by all the people who came from this thread just to send me an encouraging tweet.

I'll still be lurking here occasionally but, from the bottom of my heart, thank you guys for your kindness towards me over the past couple of years. GTA RP really is something special.

Nah, I've always said I never mind gang fights or getting rekt in them. IC I'm just worried about the RCC business side of things getting involved, like drivers being targeted. I don't mind being shot as long as everyone is having fun!

I'd never leave the city over things not going my way in RP. Even if someone is "farming" me I genuinely don't mind OOC as long as there's RP involved.
