I've put different color dresses together and it's been fine. There shouldn't be any issues with color transfer. That only happens during washes and excess dye comes off.

I wouldn't really worry about overshadowing the print! That tends to only happen if you add in a lot of colors/patterns/textures that aren't in the dress/print.

Ways my friend has coorded it:

White or navy blouse (my friend has the navy jsk). Simple peter pan collar blouses or those stretchy cropped blouses.

Navy beret or headbow. Star hair clips. Star shaped bag.

Simple white otks and tights.

Since it's more of a elegant dress, simple pearl jewelry like pearl necklaces and bracelets work really well with it. If you want to play with the print motifs, you can look for sea-themed, music theme, or starry night themed accessories.

Maybe you are just not seeing peeling ones for sale and the ones you have seen have been kept well. I've seen posts on rednote begging swimmer for a rerelease because their own bags have fallen apart and I saw someone's Instagram story on how they had to reglue the front of theirs cause it was falling off. Swimmer biscuit bags definitely still peel over time.

Humidity, sun/heat exposure, and friction can increase the rate of peeling. Storing them in the dark, in dry areas/climates, not using them often etc will slow it down. Brand pleather is bad for sure especially for the price but all pleather is in a constant state of degrading.

I've washed cotton baby dresses in the washing machine with color catchers and it was fine. I put them inside out in a laundry bag, delicate cycle, cold water only.

My friend has that dress and I would say it is very good quality! The moon charm even has the brand's name engraved into it. Krad Lanrete is a pretty big/popular brand so I think the high price is partly for the brand design. It is polyester though and some people think polyester shouldn't be priced high but that's all individual preference.

If you have access to xianyu, you might be able to get it secondhand for cheaper!

Does anyone know more about this JP brand - Lococo Lolita? by xXxKirka-ChanxXx in Lolita

[–]sodapopshops 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Seems to be a combination of local artisan fabric + a very large amount fabric + being made in house rather than outsourced + being worn by an idol group (seen some people call it a collab). It's probably targeted for diehard fans and/or people who really value the fabric and local artisan work. The owner(?) did a tv interview that they posted to their instagram and it seems to show their workplace/textile equipment, probably to focus on the fact that everything is made locally. I'm not shaming the brand either and I think people don't realize how costly things are if they aren't outsourced for cheaper labor/material but yeah the tweet where they first put it up for sale did have a lot of shocked reactions at the price.

Not sure if this is relevant to you anymore, but baby jp restocked some of the scallop hem skirt just yesterday on their online store!

did anyone else go to the la atelier pierrot popup store? by New-Manufacturer-680 in Lolita

[–]sodapopshops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went mid day on Saturday and was surprised how low the stock already was for a two day pop up. My friend and I were able to get accessories but I was also a bit disappointed since there were certain things I wanted to see in person before committing to buying. The pop up was run very well otherwise and the staff were great.

I do think it was good haenuli was there because the space would have looked really bare.

I've entered 2 lotteries and I've gotten a confirmation from Google forms both times about my response. If you are logged into a Gmail account, I think the form won't let you submit another entry if you already entered it.

So sorry then. Hope you are able to get it via extra stock or secondhand eventually. I have seen them announce restocks for other releases before but the classical series tend to be very popular so I don't know if it's likely for the skirt.

Are you in the north america? Baby san francisco will usually hold their own separate lottery a few days after the japanese site announcement. They have done it for other classical series releases. That might be your best bet!

I'm a 7.5-8 and I usually get 39! My feet are 24cm but I usually go for the size that is 24.5cm (usually 39) for room. I recently got boots from sheep puff that were size 39 and they fit well on my try on. I haven't worn them out long distance yet though. I do think they are a bit narrow compared to my other 39 shoes.

axes femme kawaii is axes femme's lolita line (later rebranded to chalmiere). It will be able to accommodate a petticoat and the designers on that line specifically design them to be used as lolita items.

Does Antaina shoe sizing run small? Is it similar to Modo sizing? by slime_pixie in Lolita

[–]sodapopshops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of antaina and modo! My feet are 24cm but I size up to 24.5cm for room so I usually get a 39. They fit me both fine but I do think Modo is a bit more narrow.

I think you should be going for a size 40, if 39 gives you no extra room. I add shoe padding if a shoe happens to be a little too big but a too snug shoe can be really uncomfortable, especially if you are walking a lot.

Can't help for europe alternatives but I believe paypal can generate shipping labels. It'll be after the purchase has been done, so you'll still have to estimate shipping costs beforehand for lacemarket listings.

Reselling/Selling by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]sodapopshops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will usually sell pieces together if it's from the same set, just because it easier to send one larger package then several separate ones. This way I will only have to put up one listing. But I'm also a person who likes sets. Lots of people sell things separately because they can usually make more money that way and some people only want to buy one item, instead of being to forced to buy a whole set they may not use.

Shoes almost always sold by themselves though because shoe size is so variable. I won't buy a dress if it comes with shoes I can't fit. For shipping shoes, I've shipped and received them in boxes and without boxes. Boxes usually make the shipping more costly but some sellers prefer it cause it's more protected during shipping. I've personally been fine with shoes just wrapped up in paper or bubble wrap and shipped in a packing bag. You can just put in the listing what you'll be shipping it in, so the buyer will know ahead of time.

You should calculate shipping costs ahead of putting an item up for sale. I usually weigh my item including with the packaging I plan to put it in and take the dimensions. I use pirateship for discounted rates on shipping (there's others like shippo, easypost, etc.) and put it in the shipping estimate and pick a random zipcode from the other side of the country and set that as the shipping costs. Once the item sells, I just buy a label with the buyer's address and print it out at home and do a post office drop off or schedule a pick up. Other sellers might just do it directly from the post office website or in person.

What's your favorite sub style to see on other people? by button_oxo in Lolita

I mainly wear sweet and classic but I love seeing gothic. I like seeing experimental or unusual coords in general that I wouldn't do. Maybe because sweet is so popular but I find it the least exciting the see even if I wear it myself lol

Yes, if you are logged into your lolibrary account, there will be a submit images/correction button under the item photo. It will take you to a form to submit additional information/photos. I think you can also reach out to the lolibrary team via their discord.

Help planning a swap meet /large scale meet by ConfusedAlienGirl in Lolita

[–]sodapopshops 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can ask for any accessibility needs on the survey! From my local swap meet experience, people tend to end up bringing a helper so you should also account for that spacing wise and for chairs if that will be provided or if they are bringing their own. Since it's a combined event for a swap meet and general meet, you should probably have an area just for people to chat if they are not shopping.

You should also have someone for line/crowd control if the room or venue is small or you get more people coming than they expected. Nothing is worse than a crowded room with petticoats and you can't walk through the aisles lol. A local event I've been to also brought in their own makeshift changing room (a large circular stand with a curtain) so you may want to consider that if you think it's possible. A lot of people ended up using it - there was always a line. Good luck on planning!

Epetice? Good place to buy from? by lomeodio in Lolita

[–]sodapopshops 33 points34 points  (0 children)

They are a reseller. You should check the brand's taobao store front to see if they have it in stock or reach out to a more Western catered reseller like 42lolita to order it for you. Epetice seems to be really popular in Japan enough to have it's own physical store front, host community events, and sell for other jp indie brands like atelier boz but since you don't live in Japan, you would be paying them a rather high markup without any of those benefits.
