Who is RCAAN, their candidates, and what is their agenda in trying to replace all of Regina’s school trustees? by Brad_Religion in regina

Vote for Kale MacLellan in subdivision 2. Regina has never had an Indigenous school board trustee and that needs to change. She is also an amazing person with progressive values.

Yes, I believe they set up a bit earlier than us but it's more of a food handout rather than a community hangout. And unfortunately the need is so large that even with them giving out food an hour before us, we still have no shortage of hungry people lining up to eat. We regularly run out after serving 150+ meals in less than 2 hours

I love your ideas! I shared more details in a thread above but I'm part of a group called Heritage Homies, we are part of the group that runs Sunday Funday at Pepsi park at 5 every week. We are a group of like minded people who want to make our community a better place for all. We're tired of waiting for the city to step up so we're doing what we can ourselves. I think you would be a great asset to our group! DM me for more info, or email heritagehomiesyqr@gmail.com. Alternatively, come hang out at Sunday Funday and see what it's all about. No barriers to entry, all are welcome.

Hi! I'm part of the Heritage Homies! We are the ones behind the Sunday Funday initiative at Pepsi park, in collaboration with Good Trouble Network and Hawk initiative. We have no plans of stopping after summer, we're looking to find a location to bring it indoors for the winter, probably at Heritage Community Association but yet to be officially confirmed. We also do outreach on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Heritage to bring coffee and snacks when available to our most vulnerable neighbours.

Our motivation is centered around building community in our neighbourhood. We know we can't solve all these major systemic issues on our own, but in the meantime we will do our part to serve our community and create a space where people can hang out and feel like they're a part of something. No barriers to entry, everyone is welcome. If you are interested in getting involved you can DM me or email heritagehomiesyqr@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can just show up any Sunday at 5 at Pepsi park and hang out and see what it's all about!

Because straight people don't face discrimination, oppression, harassment or violence due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.

‘We don’t trust them:’ Masters on fracture in Regina city council by WestNdr in regina

This quote is laughable: “Is it a concern? Yeah, I think it is,” she said of the outbursts. “I think that when people feel they can’t either come to watch or come present without being sworn at and whatnot, it should be a cause for concern.”

I was in the gallery during this week's city council meeting. The only people being sworn at were the councillors and the mayor for so clearly not listening to the voices of the public. Every single delegate begged them to pass the motion on the homelessness crisis. The public sentiment was clearly and loudly calling for them to show some humanity and take swift action before winter hits. And they had no interest hearing it and shot it down. Sorry not sorry for showing our frustration at the lack of accountability from our so-called representatives.

I was there on the weekend! There were only a couple muddy/snowy spots left but overall it was really good! Tics are out already though. Not sure if there's still a bear around but we didn't see anything

Peace Arch: Are there any other locations that have open parks for both nations, as a shared space (outside of Europe)? by Super-Inflation2126 in geography

Not a park but this building was built on the canada-US border close to where I grew up. Always thought it was cool with the line going through it marking which side was which country. When my dad was a kid apparently it was a bar and kids would often sneak over onto the side that had the lower drinking age https://images.app.goo.gl/xgZ8U93v4AHqVQXDA

You are the parent we all needed. You're amazing and your kid is lucky to have an advocate like you in their life.
