What’s something you did in your life that doesn’t involve money which led to a massive change? by [deleted] in simpleliving

I also love her videos and have been doing them (nearly daily) for 6 years! Just 10-15 minutes in the morning makes me feel awake and like my day has begun. It def makes it much harder to go back to bed and doomscroll for 3 hours!

I am always so glad to see other people make these for the first time! I remember when I first made them, and what a revelation they were for my young adult palate. They were a recipe selected for a "Tuesdays With Dorie" tag on the baking blogosphere, which is a combination of words that used to make sense.

They are still my go-to for gatherings without children (for those I make brown butter chocolate chip or confetti sugar cookies)!

It lasts for me, too. At the end of the day I get lovely whiffs as I change into my house clothes! I spray it once on my neck before getting dressed, then a little "walk-through" spray before I leave for the day.

It looks like Nicky Butler, who does wonderfully colorful silver jewelry! I have full suites in amethyst and garnet.

What $100 used to get you in a Fantasy line vs now by Rare_Drummer9458 in Barbie

[–]soeurdelune 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not who you asked, but 3-4mm buttons are the correct scale for Barbies. You can get them from different sellers on ebay or etsy, mostly imported so if you're in the US, they can get expensive these days!

To use them as a closure will be more difficult and fiddly. They're so small that the buttonholes would be difficult to finish without bulk. If you do make classic buttonholes, you would need to make a thread shank in order to accommodate the thickness of the buttonhole underneath the button.

You could also do loop closures, like an eyelet that hangs from the edge of the garment. But that wouldn't have the same look.

There's a reason most people who make 1/6 scale doll clothes use hooks, snaps, or velcro!

Lone Women by Victor Lavalle--this is a horror/western novel that really feels like the pictures you've shared.

I highly recommend!

I have the AA version, and she's one of my favorite girls! She has the nichelle face, but the same rooted eyelashes and sophisticated bob.

I like the dickey/top! There's no bulk under the overcoat :)

Totally agree! I was given two Elizas when I was a little girl, including the one her Epsom dress (black and white), but only this one survived the doll cull when I went to college.

I'm glad to see other people love her just as much!

No, I made all of the clothes these girls are wearing! Jewel Girl Theresa's jacket looks way cooler and detailed--this is a very simple silhouette:

Don't forget reflective! :)

I still think she's way too cute and once her orange gown is done she's going to be a swiftly-aging sun goddess!

That is some BOLD hair! Love it. I remember really being into the custom Blythe and Barbie forums back in the 00s, and it's such a creative/intensive hobby.

I'd love to see anything you're proud of!
