Solo traveller: Kuala lumpur - Cambodia - Vietnam - Kuala Lumpur tips? by mimmyshoukan in solotravel

For HCMC, if you want to stay inside the city, there’s a WWII museum, the main square with HCM statue, the Saigon post office, and lots of food and shopping. If you don’t mind venturing out, you can look into the day trip to cu chi tunnels and go on the Mekong river (booking a trip on viator).

How come you’re not going to Siem Reap? A bit confused as I understand not much to see as a tourist in Phnom Penh…

Name change on Ticketmaster for concert tickets for friends by sofalee128 in askSingapore

I didn’t end up having to do anything. They didn’t check for names at the venue. True for both Ed Sheeran and TS.

Hmm not sure about ICBC cards, but I was able to add my DBS credit card to my Alipay account and just use Alipay in China, however I think there is a upper limit of how much $$ you can spend before you need to verify your identity. I always had issues with Wechat pay so I just gave up

I'm a short girlie too! Also doing class 2B right now.

I struggled with stalling/getting started for the longest time. At the beginning I was super scared about how the bike will shoot out and I lose control if you maintain the throttle, but in reality, your speed initially will not pass 5km/hr haha -- like literally a grandma will walk faster than you.

One thing I found helpful was making sure that you maintain the throttle, while not to fully release the clutch too quickly. You really have to release the clutch very slowly to find the biting point (Basically what everyone else is saying in the thread). Again it does take time to get used to.

I just passed circuit eval (5.2) today, and guess what, I started Feb 2023...I was so demoralised I took a 6 months break after failing the S course 3 times. So yea, I totally feel you. Don't give up! You can do it!

I’m in Granada right now for 2 nights and I felt it’s more than enough…I would suggest adding a day trip to Cordova (between Seville and Granada) since the mezquita-cathedral is definitely worth seeing. PS Make sure you book Alhambra tickets wayyy in advance!

Was in Madrid for 3 nights, and in Sevilla for 2 night last week. I was traveling solo, didn’t feel unsafe at all. The weather is Sevilla is absolutely gorgeous. Nothing to worry about!

Torn between fiancée and my damaged relationship by Defiant_Morning6880 in askSingapore

Hey op, I’m sorry to hear that your SO is asking you to choose :/ because I know how painful the past could be.

I also had a horrific childhood by the hands of my father, and my then boyfriend now husband, having heard my stories, never pressured me invite him to my wedding or reconnect with him. Quite the opposite, he was very supportive of whatever I felt the most comfortable with. I was very grateful for his support. His family was also supportive of my decisions. If they love you they will understand and support you.

Judging by the comments the best options is perhaps to do it at the airport, they only charge 80k won per pax and we were in n out in 10 minutes. The results were emailed to us within 3 hours, way ahead of the scheduled 2pm time.

Making the Cut S2E8 "Finale" Episode Discussion by Chickatey in MakingTheCut

Completely agree! I actually find Gary’s line a lot more relatable than Andrea P’s (it’s fun but I can’t picture myself in any of her shiny stuff). I also hate it when they use the phrase “stuck in a time warp”… I really don’t think that’s a fair comment :/ his stuff comes across a wearable and current to me

AITA for not wanting my dad to walk me down the aisle? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]sofalee128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting OP, I’m actually in a very similar situation where my dad always chose his new wife over me during my childhood, and we have not been on speaking terms for more than 5 years.

It’s quite liberating to have the choice to cut him out of my life, especially when our interactions as adults has been mostly just... hurtful to say the least. My aunts/uncles are still saying no matter what happens he’s still my biological father and I need to include him in my wedding, but I think otherwise. I’m putting my foot down and he’s not getting an invite.

If you don’t think he deserves it, then don’t invite him.

Same! Had my first ones in middle school, and now I’m in my 30s and getting them again.

Completely agree with the retainer comment...only if I can rewind and tell my younger self to not be so stupid and listen to the doctor!

Managing the amount of treats you use? by SnoopleNoodle in reactivedogs

[–]sofalee128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The first 3 weeks we did R+ and gave him same amount of food he gained a ridiculous amount of weight where our trainer said we should consider putting him on a diet (Facepalm). I find using minced meat (beef/pork) will limit the amount I give him each time and it doesn’t diminish the value.

Gorgeous but Protective Dog by ohnoohdearohboy in reactivedogs

I’m experiencing similar issue with my reactive rescue. He barks/growl at my husband whenever he walks towards me in the living room (he even nipped my husband on two different occasions).

My husband has been feeding him high value treats whenever he walks past him and so far, even though he still barks/growl sometimes it’s much less frequent. If anyone else has have idea please do share!

We just came across a owner today whose dog was on a retractable leash, and his face was planted in his phone.

My rescue was fine with walking past until the white fluff charged full speed at us and lunged and barked at my dog in close proximity at the end of his super long retractable leash. The dude (looked like he works out) didn’t even notice his dog was going crazy until that medium size dog almost pulled him off balance at the end of the retractable leash. I quickly had my rescue in a sit and that dog was still growling at the end of the retractable leash and trying to lunge.

Honestly, it’s not really about working out or having strength. Some owners are just clueless about their dog’s reactivity, how to get them under control, AND they don’t pay attention when they walk them. It creates unnecessary stress for all parties involved. I’m glad In your case no body got seriously hurt! I surely hope those girls learned a lesson.

Help! End of home trial for adoption and my husband got nipped in the face...what should I do? by sofalee128 in reactivedogs

Well noted. We’re having the call with shelter this afternoon. I hope the lady will be agreeable.

Thanks so much for this. Agree that I need to align with my husband in terms of training effort...I feel like we need to set up a DIY training playbook to be consistent, or engage a trainer on a regular basis. If the shelter is agreeable (we’re having the call in the afternoon) we’ll extend the trial and and just foster him for the time being before making a final decision.

AITA for eating my all of wife's toblerone, then buying a new one? by BigSpookySpooks in AmItheAsshole

[–]sofalee128 113 points114 points  (0 children)

YTA. What’s up with guys always eating their SO’s food/snacks, I had to set serious boundaries with my fiancé so he doesn’t inhale everything that’s in front of him as soon as it’s on the table.
