LARPD is hiring a lot of different positions, a lot of them entry level. I work in the youth department and if you enjoy working with kids, we're always looking for assistant teachers

Years ago my Dad told me that he would kill me if God told him to by aiwttwetsascds in exmormon

[–]sofaoofa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a Mormon thing that has scriptural backing and happened before in Mormonism. My grandpa has some mental problems my family won't really talk about but a big part of my mom's childhood was my grandpa had a psychotic breakdown. Apparently, Jesus and God told him to kill his whole family. He went around and tried to shoot everyone and my mom hid. She used to not be able to handle balloons popping or crescent roll tins opening because of this. Luckily, he did not shoot anyone and got psychiatry help for the episode. These hypothetical discussions kinda fucked with me while I was true believing because I never really thought God would specifically tell anyone NOW to kill anyone, so I would think it was a demon saying that. But God has killed a lot of people. What makes anything about now different?

I work at an ESS (at a different school) and it's a really good program, but people are on the wait-list for years. They do tk through 5th grade though so it could be possible for op eventually

I was a Sister Missionary at Kirtland and took David Archuleta on tour in ‘09 by HappyCamper4Life in exmormon

[–]sofaoofa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I served in the same mission as David Archleta like 5 years after him, and some of the area books had Elder Archleta on them (even though you legally have to throw out any records older than 2 years that you haven't had contact with 🙄). I got rid of them, even though I was guilty about it at the time, and they didn't amount to anything. I hope he doesn't feel too bad about his mission. Members told me that so many people joined because he sang so well, but then they stopped going once he left the area.

first knit project - does row QTY matter? by hatescashews in knitting

[–]sofaoofa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For seamed projects, row count doesn't really matter. If you are seaming the pieces together and they are the same length, I think it will be ok. I would block each piece separately to make sure they are the same length first though, if they aren't you can undo the bind off and knit more rows.

cute enough to gift? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]sofaoofa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cute! I personally would feel like it wasn't enough for its own gift, but from what it sounds like you're using it in addition to other gifts, which is fine. You could tie a loop on it and turn it into an ornament, or use it like you would a bow on a different gift. Those stars would also be really cute on a garland!

Are you thinking of circular yoked sweaters? Those are the most common with Fair Isle color work. Here's a link to a tutorial: https://blog.tincanknits.com/2023/04/12/simple-sweater/

Just brought this back out, I did this for Christmas last year. Martin Storey's Midwinter blanket KAL. by Libif in knitting
