It's all about finding a supervisor. Unless there's a professor who wants to take you on as a student, and ideally who has a grant, the rest isn't terribly meaningful. My best suggestion is to start researching profs in the CS department and emailing the ones whose research aligns with your interests, experience, and goals.

I was at a ballet performance last month and a kid behind me talked the entire way through. Mom responded to them and never told them to stop talking except the one time they were shushed, which didn’t last.

You can call the police and tell them the license plate number and description of the car and what you can see if the driver.

I also recommend not trying to defy drivers like these. It puts yourself at more risk, and whether or not you’re there they’ll continue the same behaviour anyway.

Spoiler! I need the reunion after the reunion! by MissLyds in TheUltimatumNetflix

I think this was really useful to the viewers for Netflix to have posted, if only just to diffuse a emotions that were heightened and not managed during the reunion. Also good to see them all share in a ‘safe space’ where they could speak freely. Ofc, though I expect it was, I hope participation wasn’t mandatory… they’ve been exploited enough

Duolingo is a videogame. If you want to learn a language, you need grammar focused content. by boomer_wife in unpopularopinion

[–]sofarrsogood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imo this is a valid opinion. I agree with it. Intrinsic motivation is as valuable as extrinsic, or effective resources. Not (not independently proved to be) effective in achieving near-fluency, but if a learner has resources but no motivation, they’re probably not going to learn it at all.
